[ROM][GINGERBREAD] CyanogenMOD 7 Nightly Builds.

I just installed my first rom friday night, it was cm7. running good and get at least 2x battery life, but i do have some issues. Maybe its an easy fix but i dont know how. My gmail, k-9 mail don't fetch my mail, i have to refresh. I go into running apps and those aren't running, I'm guessing this is why they dont fetch my mail. How can i set these to always be running? Same issue with my Gtalk.

Thanks

Did you use titanium backup to restore apps?

yes, but didnt use it to restore gmail and k9-mail, gmail was already installed, and i just installed k9 last night for the first time

tried that too. Hmmmmm strange. I was loving this CM7 too, but i need to be able to receive my emails for work and dont want to hit CHECK MAIL manually every 15min, lol.

Hmmm, I'm taking it you already checked accounts and sync too to make sure its synced? Only other advice I could give you is to try to fix permissions and then reboot.

rebooting fixed gmail, but not k-9 mail, will keep messing with it, won't give up so easy. Thanks for the advice

I don't know if this is a new Market/Gingerbread thing, or a CM thing, but whenever I flash a new CM, the OS automatically connects to the Market and starts downloading my apps. That is a nice feature, but I have titanium back-ups and I just want to download titanium, and restore everything else. There doesn't seem to be a way to stop it cleanly, and just grabbing titanium.

Is there a way to turn this off?

I know that you don't need to wipe when just updating CM7 versions, but I did have to do a fresh install and this came up.

Settings > Privacy > Uncheck "Back up my data" and automatic restore.

This thread is amazing... I feel like I have a whole new phone... It's running faster, no freeze ups (as of yet). Just want to say thanks to Chad for his Incredikernel 2.20.11 (amazing battery saving gov) and thanks to CYANOGENMOD 7 NIGHTLY BUILDS for the great work they do... Also jerry for the email help, and everyone else (you know who you are) that has assisted me in learning how to "own" my HINC. :) Looking foward to the future and being able to help friends "own" their phones also... :D

reinstalled k-9 a couple times and now it is working good along with my gmail. Now last issue is the Gtalk. It says im available on my phone, but on my wife's phone it says I'm offline and she cant send me any msgs. I sign off and sign back on and I get all the msgs i missed, but after a few min it shows me offline on my wife's phone and other friends even though my phone is telling me im online. Any ideas whats causing this?

When I have my screen backlight auto adjust it is way to dim. Is there anyway to fix this to make it a little brighter but still have it auto adjust.

This is actually a know bug with GTalk. They are working on it. I know it does not solve the problem, but at least you know you're not losing your mind.

I have this problem too - Sometimes it's too dim and then it catches up. I would suggest setting it at like 50% or 70% and see how you like that. Hopefully they will tweak the light sensor.

hey will there be 720p support and i notice i cant send picture mms

Unfortunately no - CM7 will not have 720P video unless/until that can get a crack at some new drivers. There is a statement from slayher (one of the CM devs) about this in the OP.

MMS - I'm not sure about - I haven't seen any issues, but I don't use it very often. Try clearing the messaging cache. Hopefully someone with more MMS usage will chime in.

Sweet...also when there is a new version how do I update it...will I lose all my current info

Thanks, nice to know it's not just me. I also had the brightness issue so i just unchecked auto and left it at a certain brightness. works for me and im getting 2x battery life from before i had CM7, so I'm happy
