[ROM][GINGERBREAD] CyanogenMOD 7 Nightly Builds.

+1 for manual. I had over 100 apps installed. Wiped everything. When looking at reinstalling, I only installed those I really use. The rest are on as card....

I own an HTC incredible... When I first bought it the first thing I did was
use Unrevoked to root my phone, then I downloaded ClockWorkMod (free
version)... I really want to try the new CyanogenMod 7 RC1 for my phone.
However, I am not sure how to do it... I am very good at following exact
directions. I just need someone to point me to something that will give me
exact directions on how to do it. I understand the consequences if i mess up and that Is why i need exact help on how to do it... I have money for a new phone if i brick it. PLEASE HELP. the more I learn the more I can help
others... BTW i love you website.. it is the first thing i look at every
morning. :) thank you - seth

I have flashed CM7 RC1 through ROM Manager. I am trying to flash a new nightly, but when I go into ROM Manager and the nightly section it seems to be empty. I was wondering if this has or is happening to anyone else.

ROM Manager is having issues displaying the CM7 nightlies list today - it should be back shortly.

Either in recovery or Rom Manager.

Through recovery:
Power off phone...simultaneously hold power, volume down...enter recovery using the volume keys to navigate and the power button to select...choose backup using the trackpad

Sorry I've been absent guys, I was away from my computer for a few days. Big thanks to Pville holding it down and answering questions for everyone!

I have updated the OP a bit. Another FAQ, and added chad's newest version of his incredikernel. So far this kernel is super quick, using the smartass governor. Too early to judge battery life, but it seems comparable to his previous version.

I love how much this thread has grown over the past few days, seeing so many people trying CM7 makes me tear up ;) As always, feel free to let me know what you guys wanna see in the OP. More FAQs, clearer instructions, more themes, whatever! Just let me know!

What What What What!!!!!

You have a life!

You missed a build!

How are these things possible ?????

Where can I submit a change request for one of these lives you speak of?

Is there an ETA on getting a life? Damm... Violated the first rule, now it will never happen! :'(

LOL

Hahaha, I know I know! I hear Cyanogen is working on adding a life feature, check his GitHub ;)

Man, I've been getting a ton of FC's with nightlies and CM7. Did full wipe, dalvik and everything. Even fixed permissions. Anything I'm missing?

Did you flash with the new Clockwork? I've seen some reports of people having issues when flashing with a 3.x.x version of Clockwork that sound similar to yours.

Anyone having problems with the motion sensor / magnetometer? Google Sky Maps, Raging Thunder and Cubes Free are all not responding to motion. I can’t seem to find a calibrate option anywhere.

Thoughts?

EDIT: Figured it out. Downloaded Compass and Bubble from the market - used their calibrations and then rebooted. That seemed to fix it - the apps are responding again.

I am fairly new to this, but I am loving the newest build of the incredikernel. I just flashed it today, so it's a little early to tell battery life, but overall, I'm thrilled with this.

I was wondering how big a difference new radios make. I haven't flashed a different one at all (I've only been rooted a week now). If it does as much as a new kernel, I'll definitely go for it, but CM7 seems to be doing pretty well.

You know, I'm using the newest radio, but that's because I'll flash just about anything! I've always thought that when it comes to radios, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I haven't seen any advantages to running the newer radio, nor any disadvantages. So if you're anything like me, you'll want to flash it just so you can have the newest thing. Otherwise, I wouldn't really worry about it.
