[ROM][JB][WIP] CyanogenMod 10 for LG-P505/506

Every other CWM I've used has backed up the sd-ext. I have a ext-4 partition on my sdcard. Its always been backed up and restored by CWM until I changed to this new recovery.

EDIT:
I may be using the wrong terminology.

No it is me who is at fault. I am also new and I never knew sd-ext stood for SD partitions. I never use them so it always skips for me. Sorry for the confusion I may have caused.:confused:

Are you using the right ROM? I know you have a P506 yet your signature says P505 :p

OK everyone, I get it. Weird issues with my CWM. I'll investigate tomorrow. MD5 system seems screwed up...

As for apps force closing, that's a new issue to me. The only app I know for sure has issues is Catapult and that's because I designed it :p

I'll build again tomorrow and see WTF is wrong with all this crap. But I really don't have those issues. If you want them resolved quick, get me logcats. Those are the only way I can see exactly what is going on. No logcat, no fast result. ;) Again, email them to me: rashedabdeltawab@gmail.com

Keep the issues rolling
Also, I'll try to fix the CWM tonight. I've been meaning to decompile it anyway....

OK. Bownz and I have made a few changes to the CWM for both devices.
Here's the changes:
-Made the minimum ROM that it will install to be 2.3.5 not 4.1.1 (oops.... that's because they were built with CM10 sources ;) )
-Fixed device from msm7x27 to msm7 (allows installation of all P500, P505, and P506 ROMs)
-Reclassified devices from P505 and P506 to THUNDERG (allows installation of all P500, P505, and P506 ROMs)
-Removed all Qualcomm setting (allows installation of all P500, P505, and P506 ROMs)

Now let's see if it actually starts or not :P

EDIT: NO IT DOES NOT BOOT!!!!
And it completely bricked the phone too :p
Well here we go again with fastboot

Hm... Fixed. Not a big deal
Hm.... Not good. Now what do I do :p:p:p
I try again!!! But this time I'll leave the Qualcomm drivers ;)

So I flashed the new rom, and after it booted all that was shown was the notification bar. When I tried to get into settings it said settings had crashed. i had no homescreen or launcher and could not do anything. i wiped and cleared everything before install. tried using cwm 5.0.2.0 and rash cwm new thrive version. same results.

Hm, any "Unfortunetly, Catapult has stopped" messages?
Anyway, flash this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/56064156/CM10/Catapult-Patch.zip
That's a Catapult apk file. Just flash it normally and that will give you a nice stable Launcher

Uh rashed, my signature says my device is a p505 possible because I'm running bownz's touchwiz rom which I believe he built it for the Phoenix. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Well, all I really wanted was Twitter,so I got it from GetJar today. Kind of resolved the Play Store problem, but it would be nice to have that fixed eventually.

It seems rashed that your 7/30 build (plus catapult-patch) is working for me much more stable than the previous releases. I haven't had any random reboots (yet), and overall it is definitely already noticably faster and more responsive than ics. Play store works fine, as does ES file explorer, in fact, no issues at all so far. I am using your CWM also rash and didn't have any problems with flashing the rom with it. I also haven't had any apps force closing. I have to work all day but I'll report any issues (and battery) and I'll post my aLogcat asap.

Rashed, are there still any major bugs/issues that need worked out? Do the radios and wifi word, video is all pretty? Basically is this ready for daily use yet?

Sorry I couldnt figure out how to add an attachment by editing a post but here is the logcat for the 7/30 build. i'm just uploading this in case it might help you. I had to zip it due to file size limitations.

by my standards. Yes. On my thrive, running the build from yesterday, with the Catapult fix flashed over that, It runs fairly smooth. Radios work, wifi works, same video issues with cm9. however the camera does not work yet.

Yes, everything does work. From A-Z except the darned camera....
And a few tiny things here and there ;)
There were a ton of anti-legacy device commits I reversed recently so that helped too

Thanks for the logcat korrect!

Working out a few issues now. Might got camera working tonight

Hey rashed ... correct me if im wrong (and I probably am) but doesn't the camera have something to do with the issue with video? If im not off my rocker here is there anyway to trick the video to work in a similar manner as the camera (once its working of course).

Kinda... The video is because Qualcomm disabled all video playback for these chips so we need to reenable it someway :p
As for the camera, its just that the phone is a 2.6.35 kernel which isn't compatible with JB. The camera uses a different HAL setup, so I'm having to port the old HAL to JB. I've almost got it I think. ;)

Hey, Was just wondering if you ever got everything settled with the new CWM recovery?
