Re: [ROM][Repost][06/05/11] Comm ROM 2.1 (UKB) from TSM **Updated

I have a question....is there a patch i can use to get rid of the percentage that's on the battery icon? i tried to flash the no percentage zip file that was for com rom 2.0 but it caused a FC loop and i had to reflash the rom over. im using com rom 2.1 by the way

Sorry for being such a noob. I am trying out so many different things. Where can I get OTB 1.6 and what are you using for your settings?

Landshark said he was using the EC09 radio? Where is that posted? My market is taking forever. The TSM market isn't downloading everything that I would select...I am having to go through and download \everything 1 item at a time.

Both the OTB 1.6 kernel and the EC09 radio can be found in JaeKar99's Themes, ROMs, kernels thread here:

I was running UKB for a while then switched over to evil fascination. I have wiped my phone, brought it back to stock and I am now running UKB 2.1 When I plug it in to my computer, It wont recognize it? Anyone else haveing similar problems? Is there a workaround? I dont remember this happening on 2.0.

Mine does this from time to time.

I changed my USB settings to ask me what to do when connected and then plug up and select Mass Storage.

Hope that helps.

Yeah that's what I do to. A minor annoyance.

I did have one question and I don't have a logcat or anything as I don't know it's CR's fault and it's not that big of a deal. Nearly every time I try to camcorder at 720p it fails after about 45 seconds or less. I just have my settings on the next highest settings, but I just don't know if I'm alone or not. I've searched and not heard anyone else talk about this. It's been happening since I rooted and flashed SC 2.9. Am I alone in this?

using the utb1.6...what should I set the voltage settings to to maximize the battery while getting average performance. I am more concerned about battery life than over clocking

Start with -50 on all steps from 200 mhz to 1000 mhz and see if you phone can handle that. That's usually pretty good. Then if you phone can handle that try upping the lower ones (200 and 400) to -75. It's just trial and error to see what your phone can handle in terms of undervolting.

Re: [ROM][Repost][06/05/11] Comm ROM 2.1 (UKB) from TSM **Updated

Damnit, I need a little help. I just upgraded from ComRom 1.3 to 2.1. I went to CWM3, wiped data/cache/Davlik, installed 2.0 then 2.1. I thought I was having a problem installing root-required apps. I went to TSM market, found TiBackupPro that I've since paid for and had installed before, attempted to install it so I could restore apps via it. TiBackupPro wouldn't install. The download notification would pop up, then just disappear. A couple of times it said that it installed after only a second of download time. It wouldn't populate in my app drawer. I tried working around it by looking at the app in AppBrain choosing "Open App". It told me "This app is not executable". I then added a couple of apps that don't require root. They seemed to work fine. Then I installed RootExplorer and TerminalEmulator and it seemed fine. SU asked for permission the first time those two opened.

So I was able to get TiBackup free installed and tried to restore missing apps and their data. Mid-way through the batch restore I started getting repeated FC errors on com.google.process.gapps.

So now I've re-wiped all data/cache again. I decided to just re-install everything via AppBrain and just selectively restore data via TiBackup for apps that were important to me. BUT, I can't hardly get any apps to install now. Again, the download notification begins, then just disappears.

Any ideas/advice? Thanks for your time.

EDIT: Well, I don't know what happened. I restored apps one at a time via TiBackup free skipping a handful that I didn't care for anymore. Everything seems to be ok now. I just did a number of updates and a few installs via AppBrain and this time they all worked just fine. WTF?

FYI - Titanium Backup Pro is just a key that unlocks the pro features in the free app. You have to download the free app first, then download the Pro version. The free version will recognize you purchased the pro version and convert to the pro version. And when you are restoring apps make sure you use the batch option of restoring missing apps with data, not all apps and not either option that includes system data.

You may want to try UKB 2.0 with the OTB kernel. Some people have been having trouble with the PBJ kernel (and others love it). That may not help, but it's worth a shot. You could also use the one with no kernel and put a different one altogether on there (I hear comavolt works well...).

I remember seeing a post or two saying the current kindle app works with the CR 2.1 patch.

Yeah, 2.1 fixed that. I'm running the newest one from the market with no problem. Finally finished Bram Stoker's Dracula...

Duh, that explains the TiBackup issue. I tried using the batch option for restore of "Missing apps with data" but in the middle of the restore process I began getting the FC of whatever google service that message means.

Now, I'm having horrible battery life as well. Phone is dead within 8 hours and that's with very minimal use. I barely carry it during the day since I also have a work phone. I made ZERO voice calls, and only ran maps a few times today even with GPS off. Hardly any usage at all! Battery usage says that I've been unplugged for 8hr and Display has used 74%, Cell Standby 7%, Android System 6%, etc. The display isn't staying on for long periods of time. It times out after 15sec but I usually turn the display off after checking it anyway. Weird. I charged overnight with the phone off, booted to recovery and tried wiping battery stats. Not sure that it did anything though?

My battery life is also terrible again, I went from Comm Rom 1.3 to GB and back to Comm 2.0 and GB by far had the best battery life since I was full stock ( although SD card issues ). On both Comm Rom's I'm getting the same response with charging the phone when off. I plug it in and the Large Battery symbol comes on but the rotating wheel won't turn and the green progress bar does not show, then after charging and unplugging the battery symbol stays there but the phone won't turn on. I have to pull the battery and restart the phone.
This part really has me confused, yesterday after charging all night, I unplugged the phone and as usual the Large Battery symbol stayed on, but I was late for work and didn't have time to pull the battery so I left the phone alone for 5-6 hours and then pulled the battery and started the phone. It went from full charge I presume ( charged overnight ) in 5-6 hours to 35% without technically being on?
I'm getting a little frustrated and might go back to a debloted Froyo if I can find it in the forums, seems like it was in one of the threads.
Is anybody else having this charging issue ? and what did you do to fix it ?
Thanks in advance

This is probably a stupid question, but did you ODIN back to stock and update to ED01 (or 03,or 04) before redoing ComROM?

AtomD21,
Thanks for the reply. I went back to stock and applied all the Verizon updates. I confirmed I could attach a song as a ringtone to a contact. I flashed the UKB OTB kernel and still get an android.process.acore fc. It doesn't matter which kernel I use. Any other suggestions? The only other fc I get is with the Fox news app.

Thanks,

Rick
