[ROM][Repost][06/05/11] Comm ROM 2.1 (UKB) from TSM **Updated 06/20/11**

Re: [ROM][Repost][06/05/11] Comm ROM 2.1 (UKB) from TSM **Updated

AtomD21,
Thanks for the reply. I went back to stock and applied all the Verizon updates. I confirmed I could attach a song as a ringtone to a contact. I flashed the UKB OTB kernel and still get an android.process.acore fc. It doesn't matter which kernel I use. Any other suggestions? The only other fc I get is with the Fox news app.

Thanks,

Rick

Just to make sure, you wiped cache, dalvik, and data before flashing UKB? Have you tried fixing permissions?

Yeah I did wipe all cahes and data. I did not try the fix permissions. I will give that a whirl. Does it work through CWR or do you have to go through a terminal emulator?

It should work in both. I believe the new CWRs have fixed that problem of not working.

This is probably a stupid question, but did you ODIN back to stock and update to ED01 (or 03,or 04) before redoing ComROM?

No, I kept the EC09 radio from the GB leak as it was working fine and I was getting good battery performance as others had reported.I was hoping by using it with Com Rom 2.0 the battery life would stay the same but not so.

No, the battery life wouldn't be the same because the better battery life comes from GB's better power management. The other part of that is I had always heard you needed to use ODIN when going down in operating systems. In this case you were going from 2.3.3 to 2.2.1. So you should have ODINd to full stock EB01, then you could flash the EC09 modem in ODIN, then flash CWM in ODIN, then flash Comm ROM 2.0 in CWM.

I ran the fixpermissions script. Still FC whenever I select sound as an option for a ringtone in contacts.

Ok... what CWM are you using to flash UKB? I know that 2.0 replaces whatever you have with a custom one, but which one do you use first?

Like Landshark said, you should have ODINed back down to Froyo (or Eclair and then updated) to have that work. After you go back to stock and update and customize, whatever, then you can go to XDA and ODIN the EC09 radio.

I just booted back to stock again...phone is wierding out on me. So now I'm fresh and ready to go. Before I do anything, should I odin cwm 3? or keep 2.5?
The OP said it should work with 2.5, but I just want to make sure. I had 3 before.

Re: [ROM][Repost][06/05/11] Comm ROM 2.1 (UKB) from TSM **Updated

I used Red CWM 30-all

I would try ODINing CWM 3.x and then flashing UKB again. I know it should work with 2.5.x, but I always use 3.x and haven't run into any issues with it.

I would suggest using CWM 3. Helps makes things go a lot smoother for me.

I'm still at CR 1.3 Can I CWM 2.1 or do I flash 2.0 to 2.1. Also, can I wipe data/Dalvik or do I have to wipe all 3?

You will have to wipe data and dalvik when you flash from 1.3 to 2.0... Wipe of dalvik is recommended when you flash the 2.1 patch..

Re: [ROM][Repost][06/05/11] Comm ROM 2.1 (UKB) from TSM **Updated

I have gotten in the habit of wiping cache and dalvik any time I flash something via CWM. Better safe than sorry...

Re: [ROM][Repost][06/05/11] Comm ROM 2.1 (UKB) from TSM **Updated

Currently running cwm 2.5.x.x com rom 2.1 if I wanted to update cwm to 3, can I just flash it with odin, over what I have?

TSM Market app list and fxpms not working

I'm on CR 2.1 with PBJ -50. Aso had this same problem on CR 2.0.

My TSM Market won't update my list of apps. When I upgraded I had to restore my apps (data wipe) using My Backup Pro. Apps runs fine but the market app won't update the list. It only shows the apps I have installed from the market since going to 2.1. So of course I don't know about updates.

Fxpms inside terminal emulator gets a screen of 'applet not found' errors. Might be the same root cause which is why I am putting them in the same request.

Any advice?

I am having an issue with my music player always running in background and draining my battery. Has anyone else had the problem or have a fix for it?

For some reason it is being reported by users the fix permissions and battery stats scripts are not working with the PBJ kernel. I have not yet had an opportunity to test this to verify. You may want to flash the ComaVolt kernel in order to run the fix permissions script to see if that addresses your issue. But first you should go menu=>settings=>applications=>manage applications=>all, scroll to TSM market, click on it, and click clear data for the app and see if that addresses the problem you are having with the market.
