Sam's Club Note 7 Recall Thread

I am trying this as a back-up if SC does not comply with Samsung's return/refund policy.
VZW typically does not want to do this type of thing.
Sucks buying from SC.

So I signed up for the $350 2 year upgrade on Verizon on opening day got the 256sd . Exchanged my note for another one on Saturday after a 3 hour wait..(terrible exchange times) applied for the 256gb sd card says approved and shipped. Now today we get the notice of turn off your phones, and my line account shows I'm upgrade eligible once again! People are saying Verizon doesn't even want there phones back crediting the amount back. So we shouldn't have to take ours back? Can't we take an empty box to Sams and say I tossed in the river or it's gone because it blew up lol

I was able to return my Note 7 today at my local SC. I just gave them the phone and an empty box, less all accessories. They didn't ask me to return the gift card. SC also reactivated my old phone.

My next quest is to get Samsung to reimburse me for my Note 7 accessories - Gear VR, case, and screen protector.

I went to sc yesterday to return my Note 7 and they wanted to me to return $150 gc, I said I used it up and they wanted to me that pay the amount back to them, which is absurd, so I said nevermind give me phone back, and I drove straight to AT&T store and returned it with no questions asked.

After being told 2 times this morning on verizon chat (funny how both transcripts never arrived in my email!) that verizon corporate stores would allow me to return (not exchange) my N7 at my local verizon store even though I purchased as SC, I go to the store and I was rudely told no, that is impossible. Calling the customer service line, I at least got some respectful reps but I was pretty upset at this point. This is the 3rd time chat/customer service gave me incorrect information in the past 6 weeks. Now I have to call at least 2 SC stores because you have to take it to the exact store you originally purchased it at (which is over an hour away for me). Nope, won't be buying from SC again and will seriously thinking about going with ATT. This is ridiculous--it's not like it's a normal occurrence. Verizon needs to grow up and learn how to handle major problems like a recall.

Follow-up to my post above.

I was told yesterday by my local SC that they will refund in full, and if I don't have the gift card, that's OK.
They do want the box and all accessories. Couldn't care less about that at this point.

Still, I'll call before I go. I know the name/position of the person I spoke with, and I want that person to say the same thing to me again before I schlep over there.

Looks like it's a total crap-shoot at Sam's Club.

so what's the final verdict on this? They may or may not request for the giftcard back? and are they issuing full refunds after the 14 days?

Just go to your local carrier. I called a sprint store and they said they'll accept the return regardless of where you purchased it. I'm waiting until the 28th, so I can get a V20. I have no spare phone.

Has anyone upgraded outside of Sams club without turning the note 7 back in yet? I.e. Go in to Best Buy or online since they reset our upgrade ?

Just returned mine. Didn't ask for gift card back and my upgrade was reset. Took about an hour. Harmless.

Let me tell y'all guys about the cluster F my return process has been. So I put 30% down at Sam's club, then about a month later I paid the phone off online on Att.com, now when I take it to sams they don't know what to do in regards to giving me my full refund back, since I only put 30% down there, so I took it to the retail Att store and the manager didn't know what to do since I bought the phone at Sam's, so she called her district manager and the manager told her to forward it to someone in charge of authorized retailer. Lmao what a nightmare. So someone is supposed to call me :D

I was in a Verizon store this weekend looking for potential replacement for my N7. Sales rep stated that I did not need to go back to SC to do the N7 since my Verizon account had been reset as Upgrade available. To add, I did the payment plan vs buying the n7 phone outright at SC. Sales rep stated that I could go directly to Samsung for return. No need to go back to SC. Anyone else have a similar experience?
