T-Mobile: Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

Now this thread will go into overdrive! The infamous "I didn't get that email or text yet." " How did you get yours so fast?" " What part of the country do you live?"

Well I want to know all that. Every time. ;)

Mine says partial preorder. My card has not been charged. I preordered Saturday, August 29. No text as yet.
:)

wonder if this is just the temporary hold to validate card then funds get released back to card and hold goes away then next Friday is the official charge then phone ships days after that. this is exactly how they did the note 7 and s8 the way I remember it.

My hold went through right away and then dropped off after 2 days.

For the people that has gotten a text or having their card charged, when did you ordered the phone? And also what shipping option did you pick??
I preordered at 5 a.m. the morning after the Unpack, so 8.24. Picked UPS next day shipping.

Card charged this morning, but I have to put this out there for everyone getting their hopes up.. the shipping charge goes through when they "process" the shipment, i.e. when the tracking number is generated.. nothing more. It won't actually move for about a week based on previous orders with T-Mobile.

It's always possible they are just verifying cards and it will drop off but they haven't done that with my last 2 Samsung pre-orders. They just charged for shipping the Friday before official launch and shipped phones the next week.

I had a scare this a.m. got a message from Tmobile that my credit card payment for this preorder did not go through (no idea why it was good). Called them immediately and provided an alternate cars to be safe and it went through. If they're trying to charge the card for shipping, we should be seeing an order update soon I'd imagine
If that's all it took, I wonder why they couldn't change my payment method?

I was just about to pre-order but wanted to switch to JOD first. Called up 611 and talked to the rep. Apparently, because I have a crappy On5 on EIP on my line I can't switch to JOD until it's paid off. This was a phone I never used but the person in the store when we switched to T-Mo last year messed up all the EIP phones and who's line it was on, so needless to say the crappy On5 that was for my stepson (got it for him because he breaks everything he touches) and costs nothing due to a monthly credit prevents me from getting JOD unless I pay it off and eat the remaining balance. Minor annoyance I suppose.

Do you have good enough credit where you can get a 2nd phone, and order it with JOD

Damn, from tforce on twitter: "Haha! I know it's still super early. Usually, with our normal orders, your card being charged means that the device has actually shipped. With preorders, though, things may be a bit different. The actual event that triggers the card charging is when your order moves into "Ready to Ship" status in our warehouse. That means it's dropped to the warehouse, packaged, and labeled; all ready for UPS to snatch it up. With normal orders, it goes straight onto a truck from there, but with preorders, we do have to actually wait until we get the go-ahead from the manufacturer to send them out. I hope that helps to shed some light on the situation!"

Didn't you just have to switch the card with them?
Yes I did about An hour ago or so. I'm checking with them now because Tmobile sent an email that states payment didn't go through, but I'm not sure if that's just a followup after the text. I have no issues with the cards I've provided so it's frustrating

Att pre orders where charged today as well. I'm guess Samsung is saying Notes have been off the street to long let's give the world what they want lol
