T-Mobile: Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

On my UPS page I see...

  • Order Processed: Ready for UPS
  • Shipped
  • In Transit
  • Out for Delivery
  • Delivered

I have been at the 1st stage "Order Processed: Ready for UPS" since Aug 30th @ 1:51 pm

When I see it in "In Transit" and I see the stages from Kentucky to where I live in the Tampa area, then I know its on the move.

Patience is a virtue I do not have and this is driving me nuts.

Same here. I want it next week, especially if Irma heads our way it could mess everything up release week.

Upon wakening in the morning, i expect to see a lot of happy post here. I think there will be movement tonight.

I got orchid grey, very underrated color. Black is so boring

I have the Orchid Grey on my S8+ and I love it!! It is so easy on the eyes and it not a blah black. Even though I keep a case on it I do take that case off from time to time and just admire how nice it is! I may have to get a nice clear case to show it off.

Isn't Irma like a week out, even if it heads towards the US? I highly doubt these will be sitting past Tuesday, with some of the other carriers showing deliveries on Tuesday already.

Hey. Just want to jump in on this thread. Longtime iPhone user here... done this song and dance with the iPhone since the iPhone 6 Plus. Finally jumped ship to the S8. Ordered in store on April 18th, and got my device the 19th. (That release date was the 20th iirc)

Anyways, excited to jump on the Note bandwagon and check out what all the hype is about. I did a Jump On Demand upgrade the day pre-orders opened. However, I was told that the only option was UPS Ground, and I would have to pay for it. I was a little disappointed by this, since every iPhone and my S8 has always had free next day. But I figured as phones get more expensive it makes sense to offload the expense to the consumer, especially since we don't pay anything down on "base models"

Anyways... my order status. My account says "PartiallyPreOrder" which from experience means a back order, so I'm a little disappointed. But I could be wrong. Nothing in the myUPS app, and my estimated ship date is 9/13-9/15. I'm worried since I was forced to get UPS Ground that even if T-Mobile releases phones early I'll still be waiting until the "launch date"

On the plus side, only two weeks to go until we're all guaranteed to have our Notes!

partial pre-order doesn't mean it's on backorder, half of us in here the first night we ordered said partial pre-order it took several days for them to get it all organized and they had to wait for our payment to clear so I don't think it means backorder if it did we'd all be on back order.

I live in Kentucky, hell I live right around the corner from UPS and I paid for one day shipping so I kind of hope it doesn't go out tomorrow because then that means I paid for shipping I'm not going to get in one day so I'd rather just ship and get it the next day but with Monday being a holiday that's not going to work either, so for those of us who paid for one day shipping I think we're going to get screwed. That means they probably won't ship till Tuesday and we won't get it till Wednesday!

I don't trust reddit. I mean, during the s8 ordering a couple people photoshopped origin scans.

I agree, but popping over in the VZW and Sprint pre-order threads there's a lot of people with FedEx delivery dates showing Tuesday and indicating the device has been picked up. Not holding my breath, but things could start moving this weekend.

I was wondering if anyone here has taken advantage of t-mobile BOGOs in the past. The only way to be eligible for a BOGO is if you add a new line to your existing account. In my case, my wife and I couldn't take advantage of it, since both of our phones were already on the account. After crunching some numbers and speaking to the store rep, I was told that if we started a new line, we would get a gift card in the mail within two months for the full amount of the phone and 2 months after that we could cancel the new line with no penalties.

So the caveat is that we would have to pay for a line that is not being used for 4 months in order to get a $930 phone for free. I will be paying $40/month for the extra line so it seems like a good trade. $120 for $930.

I feel like there must be a way to cheat the system even further and forego paying the $120 altogether. Does anyone have any suggestions? According to the sales rep, if I cancel the new line before 4 months, I will get billed for the phone in its entirety, but after 4 months I will be in the clear.
4 months at $40 a month isn't $120.. just putting that out there

Read that but you can pay the phone off with the $930 card they give you and the sell it. You need to pay it off before you sell it anyway.

Could do that but then you break even, phone has to be paid off before its sold... Meaning you have to pay retail of the phone

That's pathetic. What do people get out of doing stuff like that?

I don't know but it has happened a few times on reddit. I guess they don't work or something and got time on their hands.

What sucks is that if Samsung ships on the 11th and I did overnight, I might not get it the next day because fedex usually stops by early afternoon and my dad has a doctor appointment and it's possibly I could be working that day. Might been 14 bucks wasted for nothing lol.

Gotcha! Like I said that was my experience in the past. Both my 6s Plus and 7 Plus were supposed to arrive on launch day, and I didn't get them until the week after, and that's all my account said... even on launch day. Honestly their systems can be quite confusing.
