T-Mobile LG V10 getting Marshmallow Next Week! (Update: It's Live Now!)

I'm in the same boat. Still haven't received the OTA and LB bridge tells me my phone is up to date. I'm gonna stop looking cause as a phone nerd it's causing me stress.

Marshmallow has ruined my V10. I'm getting this error every second: "Unfortunately, the process process.android.media has stopped."

I can't get to the settings app to do the steps required to fix. I'm afraid I'm going to have to reset. I am very disgusted with LG/T-Mobile right now.

Have you tried the other usual fixes like rebooting first? Updates will always make a phone act very wonky so most usually go factory reset after completing the update process.

Have you tried booting into safe mode and see if you can get into settings?

I updated my T Mob V10 to MM today (Birmingham Alabama region) via LG Bridge without serious issues. The FPS improvement is amazing even with my Spigen Ultimate Armor case already installed on the phone. The process of adding a new fingerprint is also hugely improved. Only real issue I have encountered so far is having to redirect PowerAmp to the music folder on my external SD card which I was able to fix in about 5 seconds. Battery is draining faster than I would like but as others have mentioned here this will likely stabilize over time. IMHO what was already the best smartphone on the planet just got a whole lot better!

Yes.

Unfortunately, LG doesn't allow direct access to settings from safe mode nor does it allow a cache wipe there. The only solution was a reset. Not a good experience at all.

Cache wipe is done in settings under storage. It's the only thing I did after my update.

Yes, however the error message was happening every second, which meant I couldn't get the settings app to function to get to the cache wipe. On my device, Marshmallow = DOA ---> RESET REQUIRED.

Did a reset stop this error from happening?

Nope. Wasn't even aware of it.

LG Bridge is a superb bit. Not fancy, but does exactly what it's supposed to do. Mac or Windows. It's WAY better than Samsung Kies.

They could add music syncing to it; that would bring it up to the level of the Blackberry desktop software, which was ALWAYS a great bit.

Did anyone notice how good the keyboard is now? I use swiftkey but I saw someone mention the keyboards improvements and man.. Its smooth and seemless.. I might actually switch over full time.

I agree. LG Bridge works great. I just wish it wouldn't take forever to load on Windows 10.

How does LG Bridge compare to backing up using LG Backup & restore? In the past I've backed up to the sd card, did factory reset then restored. I'll be restoring from a G4 to my new V10.

(BTW - Windows 10 - I just tried to "upgrade" over the weekend from 8.1. What a mess! It didn't find my larger drives, and my programs ran horribly slow.
I'll try again in a month or so.)
