Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

under phones and devices click smartphones, then in the upper right corner click get started next to the shopping assistant, will bring up the option to chat
Week after Iphone
I went into my Verizon store to cancel my usb modem in anticipation of getting the Thunderbolt. I was chatting with the guys there. They said they haven't been trained on it yet, but as I was leaving I said I hoped it wouldn't be released the day of the iPhone becuase I didn't want to be in the store that day. One handed me his card and said come see him the week after the iPhone is released.
So.... we shalll see.

Just did a quick chat on vzw and my person wouldn't even budge at all they wouldn't even confirm a month for me =(
Just Spoke to VZ Customer Service on live Chat
And I was given the date of 2/14/2011 without any question. The CS person was 100% sure of this date, I was told that this date it will be available in the store and online.
Then I asked about 4G data plan and I was told they did not had that information at this time.

We should have been asking which location the the online representatives are from. Some are from seattle, some from idaho.. etc. Would be interesting to see if most people are from one location vs another and what they know.

hopefully he means come back a week after it comes out so you wont be there during the iphone craze. i hope the same day release date is still correct
Ok, ok, I jumped on the bandwagon and talked to a verizon rep over chat.
At first I started with "my friend told me about a phone called the thunderbolt, i am very interested..."
He responded that there has been no new news about it.
I then asked, "When should I check back?" and he replied
"You can sign up for email updates on the verizon home page. 02/14"
I then asked about how the trade in program works, and if I get credited my phones value instantly or when they receive the phone and he responded something like:
'It will be credited to your account immediately, so wait until closer to 02/14 to trade it in.'
I also asked where he was from and he said Alabama.
Things are sounding pretty confirmed with the 2/14 date =)

I think we broke the VZW site.
I never saw a chat option, but "Find Phone" or "Find Plan". nothing else in the little box.
Now I'm getting a bunch of error messages for every page I try to visit lol

So where are you able to order accessories from already? Is that an internal carrier site or an online store open to anyone?
No, he said it wasn't the same day. It sounded more like it would come out the next week. So possibly the 14th is the correct date.

Krem: And I'm sorry to ask, but can I ask how you got that date? I have heard a LOT of different dates, and just kind of was wondering. I really am planning on getting THIS phone. No doubt.

VZW: But it was a tentative date until the 13th was announced.
VZW: As far as I know it wouldnt differ by region. I havent ever seen it happen that way before.

VZW: There will be one soon.
Krem.: I apologize for questioning you so much, but I want to get a straight answer for once. Surely you can understand that

Well let's not jump to conclusions. Personally, I'm still thinking 2/11!
But I'll be ok with 2/13 haha
EDIT: Just talked to a rep that "hasn't heard anything new about that phone."
