Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

Yeah, a note will usually work,, even though they aren't supposed to. Also, it is very common for pre-orders to show up early (as in before official launch). VZW usually promises by or before launch day.

May be old news but went into a VZ store last night and asked if the 24th was a def launch date. Rep, who seemed like a legit guy, said that's the plan but could be pushed back due to software issues. I just can't believe this phone has been hanging around in limbo for so long.

Im not sure if they can push it back much farther. the last day would be the 28th, and thats really not a lot of time if there is a software issue to fix. ( Tv commercials already airing saying "February!"

I think the phone is more the likely ready to launch.

Fedex sometimes has "waver" paperwork you can print and fill out to put on ur door. (normally after u get ur tracking #)

The only issue I have with pre-order is I have to be home when the phone is delivered. Most likely I'll be at work.

I hate getting that note on the door that says I missed it!

I leave a note with the fed ex logo on it with this typed:
"FedEx, if no one is home please use this signature for delivery as I need this package to be delivered today" I then sign the note under that. Its worked every time for me so far.

predictions on full retail price of TB at vzw

I pre-ordered the TB at Best Buy, only to later find out that the full retail price would be $749, which is ridiculous. When will the TB pop up on the Verizon site and will they sell it for cheaper?

Agreed. Everything has to be completely lined up and ready to go if they are committing advertising dollars to a TV campaign. Could it slip to the 28th? Sure. But doubtful. It's coming this month, though.

I heard it will be the same price at VZW. BB folks saying that would be unlikely.. so... who knows.

I can tell you, unless the ETF is $400 or more, it's going to make more sense to sign a new contract, pay $250, cancel, pay the ETF, and keep the phone.

its been rumored to be $100 cheaper full retail from verizon. we are all waiting for verizon to say anything about this phone

The Best Buy employees on the board have said that they usually mark their phones up $100 or so compared to the full retail at Verizon stores.

I was also wondering so I did a price check for the iphone just to see the price difference between vz and bb. There was just a $50 price difference between vz and bb, with vz being $50 less than bb. I hoping is more when the thunderbolt comes out, I buying the tb full retail. I'm looking for aleast $100 to $150 less from vz than bb. I only buy my phones from vz, but hey I'm selling my Droid x so I can get $234.00 for it now!!! Knock on wood I hope I don't drop my phone by then lol!!!!!

I have had that note before. I tried to sign a note and put it on the door but they still wanted a signature in person. If it is possible have it delivered to your place of work. This is what I do now and it works out great. Hardest part is keeping the phone in the box until work is over!

This. When I ordered my last phone on VZW.com I was able to enter separate billing and shipping addresses, so I was able to get the phone delivered to me at work.

That's your best bet.

Ill say 649. 50 more than the usual price just like the 2 year price. I remember seeing black_man_x say 629 or so on twitter so im betting its in that ballpark.

So what prevents someone from buying it at Best Buy and then turning around and getting it from VZW when they can (I guess that would be for full retail customers).
