no im pretty sure if you buy the thunderbolt tomorrow (if it comes out) on a 2 year contract, you will get the same pricing (maybe a small premium) as the 3g plans. in the future they are going to go to a tiered 4g plan, but you will be grandfathered in.

Why can't Verizon refute the rumors right then and there? For example, why can't they say "It's not coming out tomorrow, contrary to rumors you may have heard"? That would have went a hell of a long way toward defusing some anger from those eager to get their hands on the TB. But noooooo... Verizon fails that one. Me thinks that Verizon need an Extreme PR Department Makeover. Let's ask Ty Pennington if he's willing to take on that challenge!

Because Vzn doesnt need to answer to rumors. Did Vzn ever announce it may come out the 24th? No... they didnt. But you have posts here on this site saying the 24th is confirmed by "their source". Crap.. we all have a source but they are not always right

Well they told their stores and they told Best Buy. Does that count? And they could have fought the fire earlier but they chose to remain quiet. Now it's out of control and still they sit around.

Hate to get your hopes up people but I don't know why this rep gave you this information or offered to call you back. I work in the same department as the rep who contacted you. I can tell because I also offer the free month with an equipment upgrade. I see no indication of the phone is coming out tommorow. I don't know of any date at this point. I have passed the frustration people are feeling about this to my director and our Sr. Marketing VP. I really hope this phone comes out soon.

LOL! You can disavow a single store... or a single Best Buy as being rogue in what they're saying. When you call stores ALL OVER THE COUNTRY (as evidenced here), it's safe to assume they are working off of communications on those dates.
Best Buy didn't make it up. So where did they get it? Random Date Generator? Or maybe... just maybe... Verizon told them that was the date they were heading toward.

It's after 2pm ET now, if BBY actually had the damn phones we would have already known by now. Someone would have said something by now. It ain't coming out tomorrow. If you really think it is, BBY should send a geek squad kid to your front door tomorrow morning to smack you in the face and tell you in person.
Regaurdless the op has a good point. No amount of whining is going to make whatever is responsible for what hasn't even technically been a delay yet (since no date was ever claimed by Verizon) get fixed any faster. We should be focusing our energies on how awesome this phone is going to be, not what a fail it is because Best Buy jumped the gun on this one... Keep in mind that Verizon and Best Buy aren't exactly chummy since the whole Droid 2 and Droid Pro disaster last October. It actually makes sense they are still a little sore on both sides and not talking to each other. I for one can't wait to see what Skyraider cooks up for this Beast...

Proof they told them? you believe the reps? Vzn doesnt tell their stores until they can confirm it. I'm sure you know that. They just follow the rumors. I dont believe dates reps give for crap
I tried calling my local store asking if they had any info. The guy said they didn't have any information at all on the device but he seemed very hesitant before everything he said. Seems like he had to catch himself from saying something that he wasn't supposed to.
i hope VZW and Best Buy really are making these calls cuz if they are both making calls saying the 28th then we should be seeing it on 28th or people will be flipping out way more than they are now

Well I said in a thread yesterday that I was told the 28th in store (but even the rep admitted that he wouldn't rely too heavily on it at this point). That means nothing at all, but hearing that people are getting calls about it... That's a bit different >.>
Stop overreacting. If we couldn't speculate calmly (like we all are), it'd be either barren boards, or bursting out in uproars and anger.
