MMS is fixed with the update?

Market might need an extra step - wipe market cache, download twidroid free or barcode scanner, reboot. Check again. Google needs to refresh the data they have for your acct on their server. DL'ng a new protected app should do that. Or just wait 24 hours without re-visiting the market.

Does the Market still show Verizon's market?

Yes sir mms works. Will try that with the market now and post back.

Just so its clear for people you have to search android firewall to see paid version.

LOL. I have an old cup from last years Gator Bowl that 1 beer and a red bull will fit in. Absolutely fantabulous.

(the wife threw away my dual beer hard hat/straw thingy after I wore it to Wal Mart. The big orange plastic cup has to fill it's shoes)
 
As always, Gbhil, I'm a huge fan of your work. This ROM is awesome, its very fast and looks great. The only issue I'm having, that I can't seem to resolve is that GPS is way off for me. Is there a fix for the GPS, or does it seem to work for some, and not work for others? I need the location services, or I can't use the ROM. The Camera, etc, I can live without.

Now can you do that thing wiggle your nose click your heels three times an make the camera work...just kiddin,I understand the deal with it.

Heya. Long-time-no-see!

Is it GPS that's off or cell triangulation?
Grab a gps sensor app from the market and see if the long/lat it gives you is right.

Works fine here, but I have a Sprint tower in my back lot about 25 yards away from my office window. Let me know what you find out and we'll get to crackin.

I wiggled and tugged and poked everything...no camera. But now i need a cig lol.

"Inside" sources claim that Sprint will roll out the real Hero 2.1 update on 22 March. If they don't, we will talk camera once again on the 23rd :)

no problem! I have a couple more questions.

Whats with the single vibrate when I cal someone? Can I turn this off?

Is there a way to make it so I dont have to sign in to gmail every time I reboot?
 
No idea why it notifies when a call is initiated. Annoying as hell to me too, and if/when I can figure out why you bet yer ass it's gone lol.

Don't reboot lol. It LOOKS like it takes too long to connect to the network, and doesn't get the message that the login was OK when it wants it. If we were GSM it would be easy to fix. Sprint and Verizon don't use regular network settings, so we can only use the settings built into the framework for connection. The database switch for MMS is just a hack, but I have found the file that needs edited, but it aint easy. That file isn't a regular file, it's compiled along with the rest of the framework.

Anyone reading this:
/system/framework/framework-res.apk > /res/xml/apns.xml needs smali'd, hexxed and baksmali'd to remove Verizon's network info and add Sprints. This is NOT my area of expertise, but I'll plug away at it :)
 
ok, I thought I was the only one having the vibrate. And believe me I can so deal with those minor things. This rom is truly amazing and with the recent fix, it is now my daily rom.

Oh I agree. they are annoying, but I'm more than willing to overlook them for the benefits of 2.1 .

And it gives us a BIG headstart for when we get an official from sprint. Any tweaks that aren't stock that get done here should drop right in to the Sprint 2.1.

See, I told ya over at Androidforums that ROM building is fun lol.
