LG G4 Battery Life Thread

Re: LG G4 battery life isn't as great as those reviewers said

Are you sure? When I would check Auto, then drag the slider, the screen would get brighter or darker. Which definitely implied to me that the % was determining something.

I assumed that Auto lets the phone adjust by itself, but that the slider lets you set a "bias" or baseline, that you generally want it bright or dim. Otherwise why leave the slider enabled at all? Mine was Verizon, if it matters.

I have a tmobile G4 and I can't drag my slider when auto is on. I tried moving it before setting auto and I don't see any diferences at all. Maybe it's a carrier feature.

I have returned mine, so I can't double-check. But I thought that's how mine worked. If I'm remembering wrong (maybe I was unchecking Auto first), I apologize.

Maybe another Verizon user can check. I don't want to spread bad info.

I have a VzW version and can drag the slider when Auto Brightness is checked...and also found it didn't seem to do anything. I didn't change locations while doing it to really test it out, but I dragged the slider from end to end and it made no noticable difference at all. The "baseline" regardless is just too dark.

I now have Lux doing the work, and doing it well, but Brightness and the touch sensitivity (SGS Touchscreen Booster) aren't really things I feel I should have to have a 3rd party app control.

The good news is that I would suspect some of these things can be fixed, or at least improved, via a software update.

Thank you for checking. That is interesting, I remembered the screen's brightness changing as I'd drag the slider, with Auto enabled.

I would typically be playing with this setting indoors, so in moderate brightness.

Likewsie, I was indoors when checking.

I can hit the button next to the slider and it will jump to the saved brightness settings( 50%, 90%, 100%) and nothing changes.
Also, it shouldn't matter if you are indoors or outdoors, it's a dimmness calibration, so if u make it dimmer on auto indoors it should get slightly dimmer... Correct?

This may be a T-Mobile thing but on the International model you can adjust how bright the "Auto" brightness is. Such as I keep Auto on but I can tell it to go brighter while still being "Auto" so it isn't going 100%.

Re: LG G4 battery life isn't as great as those reviewers said

The settings on auto brightness has no Bering on the auto feature. So having the slider on 6 % while you have auto brightness on does nothing at all. I tried this on almost every percentage and I see no difference.

on my Verizon model, when in "auto", the slider does affect the brightness

My VZW does. On auto and I can move the slider and it gets brighter\dimmer.

That's what I *assumed* the baseline setting in Auto would do. It just doesn't on my G4.

Same as on my H811 T-Mobile :-[.
I hope fixed next update?

LG announced that the fast charging will be available on LG G4 with the appropriate charger (not supplied).

Ah -- very odd. Most Verizon users say they can adjust the brightness of Auto Brightness using the slider.

Is this a new announcement? Or the info from maybe a month ago that the G4 supports QC 2.0?

I just went and gave it another try. It was still glitchy, but it did hop around in brightness (with bigtime lag and sometimes nothing) when I moved the slider. I'll stick with Lux, which is doing a good job. As I said earlier, though, brightness doesn't seem like something I should have to reply on a third party app to control.

Oh I agree. For me though .. That and the missing of quick charge (at least for my international model) are my complaints .. That is it. If those are my only complaints then I really can't complain haha :).

Re: LG G4 battery life isn't as great as those reviewers said

Did the same thing on my G4 as well as on our Note Edge. That's such a BS scheme that they don't tell you that or have the ability to opt out of.
