Dammit!!! No dice! It's still doing the same thing. The progress bar gets about halfway thru and then it stops and this other screen with the red triangle is displayed. I'm lost... Hmmmmmm! I did everything you did though, atleast I think I did. You don't have to delete the PC36IMG.zip from the root before running the OTA update do you???

Hey ecaggiani, I followed your steps but I'm stuck on the ota download part. Its on the sd card root and I renamed it update.zip, but when it begins to install it stops and says status 7, error and aborts. Any ideas?

I got the same result. Rooted Baked snack 1.7. Yellow question exclamation! Battery pull and all seems well. I will hold off for now.

I just have one quick question... i am rooted and my EVO runs great with a little better benchmarks than people are reporting, but when i rooted my phone i didn't flash new ROM just new kernel. so i have the stock sense ROM. The question is, is it really gonna make that big of a diff. on my phone or am i missing some other benefits to this new update?

Using the rooted deodexed update from xda now. Seems to be running great for me. No 4G here so I can't confirm if there are any issues with that. But otherwise everything is running running as it should.

I am rooted with unrevoked 3.21 and the OTA was a no go. After reboot it just showed the android guy with an exclamation mark. Downloaded the .zip, renamed it, put on root of SD card, rebooted to recovery, manual update and now my EVO SCREAMS!!!! It is visibly WAY faster than before....... WOW


update: fps2d reports 54 fps. was 28 before the update......

I am rooted with unrevoked, ran the manual update and lost 0 apps. All is the same except the phone screams now.

So just do it the way we flash our roms? Recovery/apply zipsdcard/(yourflile name here)

Thanks, I had checked that earlier and nothing was there, so I thought I was doing it wrong. I just tried again and it found it.

Ota installed! Fps2d running at 53. Scrolling is much improved on home screens and web browser. Thanks, sprint, way to be ahead on the update curve again!
