Just put the stock radio back on...
I tried the different radios again yesterday (Metro-Detroit) and all of them were bouncing in and out of coverage. I tried new CDMA/New LTE, old CDMA/New LTE and New CDMA/Old LTE. None were very good. I flashed back to factory.
Here's what I did. I have root explorer on my phone, but astro file manager can do the same. I downloaded all 4 radio combinations. I made a folder at the root of the SD Card, called radio, then created 4 folders in that. Since each file has the same name, I labeled each of the 4 folders what radio it was. Then, I can just copy and paste whatever radio I want to try into the root of the sdcard so I can flash the radio only with ease.
That being said...I just turned off my wifi and I was stuck on 1X as well.
I JUST did this step, as provided over at XDA forums by spasma7ilk (use with caution, you're on your own just like with rooting)
-Go to the ThunderBolt's phone dialer. Enter ##778# and hit Send.
-You'll get a pop-up labeled EPST, with the choice to "View Mode" or "Edit Mode." --You want "Edit Mode."
-You'll be asked for a password. It's 000000.
-Now flip down to "Modem Settings," and then choose "Rev. A."
-Change the setting from eHRPD to "Enable," hit OK, then press the Menu button on the phone and tap "Commit Modifications."
This gave me 3G back, hopefully works for others.
