[ROM] [05.25.11] Das BAMF 1.7

Since the 1.6.2 patch comes with an updated kernel, do I need to do anything else before flashing it in recovery? (i.e. clearing caches or whatever)

Thanks!!!

"Kernel has init.d support, as well as adb root, and usb debugging enabled on every boot (even from a wipe). Many optmizations, tun, cifs, nfs support. Overclocks to 1.5ghz. Undervolted from 1ghz and down. Stock voltage at 1.19, slightly overvolted past that.

Kernel will boot at 1036mhz! You must use setcpu to overclock, the kernel will not do it for you automatically."

anyone using setcpu? If so what was the best setup? (how was profile set, etc)

Version 1.6 includes Das BAMF tools which lets you overclock and select governor profiles without using Setcpu. Setcpu offers the additional benefit of allowing the use of profiles. On my Thunderbolt, I use the ondemand governor with no overclocking and a Setcpu profile that keeps the cpu at 245 mhz when the screen is off.

I suggest trying the different settings in Das BAMF tools first and moving to Setcpu if you want to use profiles.

Ditto above, volume is super loud no matter how much I turn it down.

Adrynalyne was kind of enough deal with me on IRC and we got the issue resolved he asked me to post this:

Loud Volume Fixed Kernel

This will make it so the volume is controllable and not extremely loud. This also disables call recording which was somehow causing the issue.

Big fan of the BAMF team.
I went from 1.5 remix, to 1.6, 1.6 remix, then 1.6.1 patch and now 1.6.2.
All went as absolutely smooth as can be.

However....
In the original non-remixed 1.6 the screen transitions (rolling, scrolling, etc.) aren't my cup of tea.
Is there any way I can keep the 1.6.2 patch and go back to standard screen transitions?
I am using the 4.4.4 kernal as well.

Thank you!

NM.
I found the stock transitions and animations over on XDA.
You guys put out so much information so quickly (THANK YOU!!) that sometimes it is a bit trying to keep and weed through!

i accidentally deleted flickr through the das bamf tool kit. Is there any way I can get it back?

Reflash the rom.

hahah i was hoping I didn't have to do that. but o well. Thanks adrynalyne! you rock.

I have a quick question:

Most of my games are installed on my SD card so I don't take up space on my phone memory. I put all games icons in a folder on the home screen.

Everytime I reboot, my icons in the folder go to the default andriod icon and the only way to fix it is to delete the folder and put everything back in 1 by 1.

I know that this isn't a bamf specific problem, but I heard that adw launcher has a fix where you can redraw the screen after the sd card is mounted. Was wondering if bamf as anything like that.

Thanks

Unless you have a ton of huge games and have the internal memory full, there really is no reason to have anything on the sd card as you don't really gain anything.

PJ...unless you want to save some info for a new phone or want a safer backup for data?
(I'm just throwing it out there, please correct me if I'm wrong...)

Just wanted to thank the forum for assisting me along the way with rooting and installing 1.5 last week. I've been on cruise control and have updated my TB to 1.6.2. This is, by far, a much better device than my failed Palm Pre +...

Question, I moved to 1.6.2 then flashed a different Kernel. Now I'd like to go back to the 4.4.4, how can I do that? I know it's not available outside of 1.6.2 right now. I re-flashed 1.6.2 and that didn't install the new Kernel. Ideas?

Does the auto brightness work well? The transition from bright to to dim takes a while to happen when my lighting situations change

That's odd...because I wanted to try the new lean/extreme 2.0 myself.
It didn't run as nice as the 4.4.4, so I went into my folder of zip files on my phone and flashed it with the 1.6.2 patch and it put 4.4.4 back on the phone.

Did you try wiping cache and dalvik before you flashed the 1.6.2 update/patch?

Anyone else having problems with the phone freezing during app updates from the market? Not all apps, just random so far. Everything was restored used titanium backup. I have also already done the "fix permissions" in rom manager. Running the BAMF 1.6.1 update.

You know why, right? Its due to it being an intensive writing process. Larger apps are more likely to do it.

I'm having multiple updates fail now though and it's not all large files. There are a few apps that freeze the phone when trying to install/update (see below), but now there are many just failing...Any ideas or suggestions? Never had this problem before, even with multiple large apps updating at once...

Apps that cannot be installed (phone freezes):
- Crazy Snowboard
- Stupid Zombies
- 9 Innings: Pro Baseball

PS - I'm now running the BAMF Remix 1.6.2, aside from the app issues I've been loving this ROM. Thanks for all the hard work!

I'm having this problem as well. Updates begin to download and then automatically fail. Love the ROM so far... great battery life and performance. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry, not with the phone freezing, but with updates failing.

Dah... sorry again for being such a n00b... a reboot fixed the problem. =/

This is probably a ymmv thing, but I had nothing but trouble with the BAMF kernel's when flashing through ROM manager. I had constant lockups and re-boots. I flashed to lean kernel and then decided to give BAMF another try which is when I re-flashed 1.6.2 through rom manager and for some reason I still had lean kernel and could not get rid of it. Anyhow he posted the new 4.4.5 as a stand alone download, I dloaded that, flashed it through CWM after cache and dalvik wipe, and now everything works perfectly fine. No lockups or anything. Weird.
