[ROM][ACS]SyndicateROM Frozen 1.2 (Updated 6/20)

Okay, another noob question here:

Was the stock Android keyboard removed from this ROM? I've had everything running with no problems for a day or so now, and just noticed tonight that the Android keyboard was not in the settings when I went looking for it.

If so, is there a place I can find it to get it back? I did not see it in the Stock Apps Removed zip, nor in the EC05 system apps remove&restore zip I pulled from another thread.

FWIW, I am not seeing much battery life improvement (one of my hopes for this install), but I am sure glad to be rid of CIQ and most of the bloatware, so thanks for a great job.

When flashing this rom. How long should I wait when it says blitzing /data before i try and redo this?

That is part of the install script... Basically what it is doing is applying mods to your filesytem.. Should only take a few minutes.

I searched the forum but didn't find anyone else having this issue.
I just flashed this rom over the latest Bonsai rom. So far everything is great. Speed is up and the battery seems to be lasting a little longer. One problem that I'm having is that I can't move apps to the sd card. In the past I was able to. I had the same problem with the Bonsai rom but figured when I flashed this rom that would be fixed. It didn't so if some one knows what I should do to fix this it would really be appreciated. :-)

It's in the Stock Apps addon. You're looking for LatinIME.apk.

I never told you this, but I actually do develop still...but I have no time to do the hard work, so I use your ROM as a base. Hope you don't mind. It's for my own personal use :)

Never a problem for users to customize for their own use.

Just for the record, in case anybody else experiences this problem and doesn't know what's causing it:
Having YouMail installed still causes this ROM to lock up if the device sleeps for more than ~30 seconds, requiring a battery pull.

I've been having theme problems as well maybe I'll try wiping 5x. Which theme works best for you with this rom?

Edit: I ment to quote paul's theme post.

Skyward, make sure you play with the stock ROM for a bit too before you flash any theme. Maybe download some app updates, a few of your own personal apps, etc... Give it a chance for the dalvik to build up... Seems like if I go straight ROM flash>boot>shutdown>cwm>theme flash its a bust each time...

BTW, a new updated version of CWM is in the works so I would think that is going to help resolve many flashing issues.

I'm running Blue MidNight V1.2 Theme EC05 Ext4 Rom and loving it.

I wiped everything 3 times and flashed rom, rebooted, then back and flashed this theme. Had some battery issues, so back to cwm, flashed rom and theme at same time - dialer fc's, a mess, so went back, wiped everything, reflashed Syndicate, rebooted, then back to flash theme. Absolutely no problems, so follow this, or do what Paul said. Both at same time is bad idea.

And theme is very cool, both tw (which I had never liked from Samsung) as well as Launcher, both different colors and features, can match with your background and wallpapers.

Now trying to get his cool clock on via Beautiful Widgets.

I have downloaded the removed stock apps addon from xda on my computer. This may be a silly question, but when I install this, do I have to install all the apps or can I choose and pick which ones i want. Thank you guys for all your help

Just pick and choose. :)

Anyone noticed that there is no option to upload videos to youtube via the video player app?

Flashed this yesterday and it runs silky smooth with no problems whatsoever and EXCELLENT battery life. Just want to be able to upload my videos! :(

Found this post on XDA Developers if anyone was wondering about a solution to this. Loading the mediauploader.apk to /system/app does fix this issue.

Note that the ROM works perfectly for me in all other regards, except for the known bugs listed on the 2nd post.

To reproduce:

Long press a video in any gallery type application (Gallery, quickpic, etc..)
Choose "Share"
Youtube is absent.
Note that reinstalling the youtube app from the market does not fix this issue.

it's not a bug, and not too far back is the answer, search is your friend

i think mediauploader.apk is the relevant file (post 5550), but i just put all three in /system/app ... then got a persistent force close from media service ... i had to finagle it to where i could catch the Reboot option (after long pressing my power button) between the FC popup so i could reboot it (because media service was still running and i guess freaked out after having files replaced - i think the two that TheImpaler uploaded...) - and i did NOT want to pull the battery. try only loading the mediauploader.apk into /system/app first and reboot.

Deffinatly a great ROM. :) I've been running it for about a week with no issues at all. My wife won't let me "play" with her epic which is running stock EC05 because she fears that something might mess up. Now I find her using my phone alot because "it's so much faster" I think it's only a matter of time before she is running SyndicateROM. ;)

I'm just going to stick with stock syndicate for now. lf sprint is really going to come out with another update, we're going to have start the whole rom theme compatability thing over again anyway.

Even us Advisers and mods have trouble from time to time.. LOL.. Story, everything fine for oover 24 hrs running SFR with Bionix Black 4.1 theme and then all the sudden my device started to freeze up because I had my min Mhz on the Twilight Kernel set to 100 which my device just doesn't agree with at times. Anyways I did a soft reboot to get out of the mass lag it was throwing me and I end up booting up with fc's on logsprovider process. So I attempted to get into apps>manage to clear things but that wasn't gonna happen with the FC window popping every sec. So I hit CWM wiped cache/dalvik 3x reboot, still the same. This time I hit CWM and try fix permissions, no good either... So I end up having to reflash the whole ROM because naturally my "working" Nandroid backup is met with fc's as well.

Bottom line I'm so sick of fc's, we just never had these type of problems prior to CIQ removal. You really had to goof something to start popping fc's. Now it seems like whenever it decides its time to screw up it will do so.... Not happy at all... Almost forced into going back and running EB13 pre-CIQ removal ROMs. :'(

Note: this is not being blamed on k0nane he has done a great job. My device for some reason no matter what I do doesn't react well to it.
