[ROM][ACS]SyndicateROM Frozen 1.2 (Updated 6/20)

@kevin, sounds like you just had some random crash resulting in data corruption from the unexpected reboot due to running I assume with no journaling. Not much you can do in this situation except the wipe and flash.

Good to know. Fortunately, reflashing 1.1.1 preserved all my data. Just had to reflash the theme and boot sequence.

Still, you get that feeling: uh oh, no computer with Odin, about to get on a plane, crap...

Not sure if this is really SRF related or just crash-related, but today I plugged my phone in to charge at the airport, connected to 4G, and then started the wifi tether. It took a while to start up, and then the phone just reboot. Started to load up fine, but then I started to get tons of FC pop ups (MMS, Swype, acore, gmail, etc.). After shutting down and rebooting, most of the errors went away, but the Swype FC persisted, and because of that, the SMS app would crash and just about anything that used the keyboard. So, I cleared all the data, wiped the cache a few times, but still the FC after rebooting. Shutdown and pulled the battery. Still the same thing.

I eventually reflashed 1.1.1. and that got rid of the Swype error (obviously). I subsequently tried the wifi tether and it worked without a hitch.

Anyway, in the future, is there a better way to stop a similar FC other than reflashing?

For future reference, it's been mentioned several times that you need to start WiFi tether BEFORE turning on 4G.

FLASH with slow audio. bump

Sorry to re-port fellas,, but wanted to bring this back up as these posts get buried after a day or two.. Any advice would be appreciated.

I've recently noticed an issue with the audio for flash videos. Everything worked fin up until few days or week ago.

My wife's epic has SRF 1.1.0 and whenever she streams flash video.... The audio seems to super slow and does not match the video. This never happened before.

I tried my epic (ACE ROM 2.0) and it had the same issue.. BUT, I was able to uninstall the recent Adobe Flash updates and restored it to the original 10.2 version.. That seemed to do the trick and my Epic played flash videos with normal audio again.

However, the same technique on my wife's epic doesn't seem to work.. I tried deleting the app and wiping out data.. Even tried re-installing a version from March ( I had a Titanium backup).

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Will it run with CWM 3.0.2.5 ? Currently have SFR 1.1.1 with CWM 3.0.2.5 on my epic 4g. How would I go about using this ROM. Thanks in advance.

i had this exact problem so I started using Wireless Tether. then i read on the xda thread for this ROM and found this:
To get wireless tethering to work:
Go into settings of the Wireless tether app before you start
Change the Device Type to Epic
Then, ensure that you are NOT on 4G
Start the tether
Once connected on 3G, you can turn on 4G, it will work now.
NEVER turn on 4G before you start the tether

as soon as i started doing that, wifi tether never rebooted my phone (i still use Wireless Tether because i usually keep 4g on and don't want to switch it off just to start tethering)
All of a sudden same issue. Followed your instructions and back to working perfectly. Very important as I am heading on a long trip west Wednesday with kids who are used to having WiFi on long trips.

I'm curently on Bonsai Masterkey. Can I flash this ROM from this? Or will I need to update purple? If so I can update purple with this Masterkey CWM.. What is recommended? Thank you much!!!

I'm okay now, but I had a miserable experience trying to download this ROM..
Went from Bonsai Master Key to Purple CWM. When Flashing the ROM it reebooted to Blue manual Recovery instead of Frozen 1.2, after many failed attemps in flashing ROM and IAP Kernel. I went back and flashed CWM 3.0.2.5, then flashed Purple 3.1.0.1 thinking that may have been the problem. Nope.. Got Stuck on IAP screen until battery pull. I went back into recovery and flashed a backup. DL a fresh Frozen 1.2, and BINGO, after no wipe I had the ACS Logo and lock screen part of the ROM but nothing else, so I knew I was close.. Rewiped everything x3, and I'm up and running.. -Talk about the long way around the barn.. I accompany my issue to a bad download from the site as I used the phone to pull it in.. -Happens.. Especially while trying to take short cuts..:-[

Oh no ! Never download a ROM with your phone... I know it works from time to time but the downside, look at what you went through...

Glad you resolved it.

So I've been getting pretty poor battery life out of my epic since I went to SRF 1.0.2, and it was the same with 1.1.1 and 1.2...

I assume I've been doing something horribly, horribly wrong with setcpu- uninstalled it yesterday, and I got ~20 hours of battery life, when I usually get around 8. Any tips for setcpu usage? Or has anyone else experienced a similar occurrence?

I have mine set to Min 200/Max 1200, and Conservative governor (I think that's the most important part).

I also started using a single profile: Screen off/ 100min. 200max/ priority 100%

Play with Conservitive and Ondemand. CPUSpy showed me that while on Ondemand it actually spent very little time at 1200 (~11-14%) and the rest at 200 or sleep.. So it seemed that yes it went to the higher voltage but took care of it quick and came right back down, rather than spending more time in the mid level voltages.. It showed more % time in these mid level (400-1000) voltages in Conservative. You'll have to test yourself.. I was OC'd at 1200max.using VC and SetCPU.

Also, if you go with Clean Kernel v.1.05 you don't have to run Voltage Control or SetCPU, thus savining battery as well. Emerald Envey 2.0 seems to be talking about battery life settling in after a few days or more of cycling it, but not too good at first.. Something in their programming I believe..

Post your results.. I'm currently ruuning Frozen 1.2 testing it out as well.

has anyone figured out how to use wifi while in airplane mode running sfr? it does however seem to work on other roms such as midnight and bonsai. i've searched but haven't found an answer. was going to ask for help over on xda but won't let you post in the developer forums unless you have a certain number of previous posts. thanks in advance.

+1 on these settings. I find the more you attempt to tweak these kernels the more trouble you get into.

I realize this is kind of a noob question, please forgive me:

I flashed SyndicateROM 1.0.2 (Shuriken) for 2.1 (DI18) months ago and have been happily using it ever since, but have finally been tempted to upgrade to this release. Since I've never used odin, I just want to make sure not to screw this up. Would someone mind explaining what steps I need to follow to get SRF 1.2 up and running?
Again, I'm on DI18, CWM 2.5.1.0.

Thank you!

Hello All,
I'm suddenly having a problem with SFR1.1.1.1 ( cwm 3.0.2.5). I keep getting force close errors when I startup the phone and enter my password. The errors are:

"The application google services framework (process com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Force Close"

Then right after:

"The application swype (process com.swype.android.inputmethod) has stopped unexpectedly. Olease try again." Force Close.

Any idea whats going on. Thanks.

Yeah, sounds like the same issue I had after installing SFR 1.1.1.....you have to enable "journaling on". I found the zip file to d/l over @ XDA in the SFR 1.2 posting. You're not the only one who has this issue. Good luck.
