[ROM][ACS]SyndicateROM Frozen 1.2 (Updated 6/20)

Hows the battery life on 1.1.0? I liked the ROM a lot, but I had to bail on it because the battery life was awful. I could literally watch my battery tick away, even with the screen brightness set at 0%.
What version were you using? I was on 1.0.1 and actually had some decent batt life on it. Im using 1.1 right now with the VisionKernel 1.0 running 200 min 1400 max ondemand and it seems alright... better than other ROMs I tried in the past with NO overclocking!

no worse than any rom i've used. its not like OMGUBERBATTERY!... no 30 hours of life here (phone actually shut off on me last night after ~14hrs). havent been using it too extensively, with low-moderate use its lasting ~12hrs. not really impressed with battery life, was hoping for more, but its a nice rom. (*i got WAY better batter life on v1.0.3. but the only one available to dl now is 1.1, which has noticeably lower batt life than previous version. wish i'd kept the zip i used to install it)

Always keep your ROM zips! Heck with the space we have on harddrives today there is no excuse not to have a library of ROMs just sitting there...

I just flashed the new Vision kernel with 1.02. Locked at 1.4ghz for close to a half hour, running smartbench and quadrant in a continuous string repeatedly (like 10 times), playing some games, some general use stuff, its so far rock solid. I'm pretty confident my phone can handle the 1.4 clock no prob, and certainly 1.3. I'm waiting for the journaled version of SRF 1.1 to get the kinks worked out before I bother re-flashing a whole new ROM. That extra layer of security just gives me better piece of mind. After the strangness yesterday my phone has been acting perfectly normal again. I might give bonsai a try if 1.1 doesn't work out, but the ACS team is on a roll.

I don't remember exactly which version I had, but it was either 1.0.1 or 1.0.2. I took my phone off the charger at around midnight, used it only to send a couple text messages and check email, and then went to sleep. When I woke up about 6 hours later the battery was drained down to about 5%. Another time the phone was off the charger for 2 hours and was down to 72%, when all I did was listen to music for about an hour. It's worth noting that I always toggle airplane mode on reboot, and I always calibrate battery after flashing a new kernel, so I don't think those issues apply to me.

Like I said in an earlier post I've had battery issues with this ROM too (1.02) and there a re several posts on XDA of people having ridiculous battery drain on 1.1 as well. There definitely seems to be some sort of a bug where it decides to some times start sucking down battery. Considering how warm my phone got when it happened to me, I almost suspect some process hangs and locks the phone at full speed even while asleep. Been using the phone all day and even locked @ 1.4ghz my battery is holding up better (and its noticeably cooler, it literally got hot to the touch yesterday), so something somewhere is bugging out.

OK folks, I did do a search. Perhaps I am not the prettiest crayon in the box, but for the life of me cant figure out why I cannot hear my ringer and notification sounds. They are there, just REAL low. And yes the volume is up. So go ahead now... show me how much of a noob I am....

EDIT: the audio is playing through the ear piece and not the speakers. Even using the audio player.

This sounds like the headphone jack is glitching out on you. I've heard of this in the past. Do you use headphones? If not it still sounds like this could be the problem. Everything is coming threw the ear piece.

I honestly can't remember what people did for this. It was posted in the General-Epic section, do a search for it in there and see what you pull up. Its been a good month or two since I remember seeing this..

HELP!! Idiot can't flash Syndicate ROM

OK, I'm the idiot here. Currently using ACE 1.7 ROM. I used Odin3 to flash the EC05 Modem. I downloaded the standard version of the Syndicate ROM but it's not a ZIP file. I just have 5 separate folders: tools, system, META-INF, kernel-update, and data. How do Flash this with no ZIP file? If it's through Odin3, can anyone tell me exactly how? I'm completely lost....

I've had this happen to me a few times with random ROMs. Rebooting fixed the issue for me.

Sounds like you extracted the zip file. I'm running the standard version and it downloads fine as a zip file.

"syndicatefro110-standard-signed.zip" is the exact filename your looking for. If you want goto your Start button on Windows, then in the Start menu at the bottom you have a Search box. Copy and paste the filename I gave above into that search bar and it will locate the file for you.

Otherwise...

Just look in your recent downloads list and the zip file will be there... Just use that file and this time around don't extract the file, just move the file as it was downloaded directly to your sdcard.

What worked for lag on 1.0.2 was to do the "horizontal calibration" with the phone screen down. Let the screen overhang the edge of a table and tap up on the calibrate bar. Don't ask me why.

Thats the NON rooted method...

Rooted... As follows..

Download Terminal Emulator from Market

Type: " su " Press Enter

Accept the Root Access.

Type: "/system/bin/sensorcalibutil_yamaha" Press Enter

Now lay your device with keyboard open and facing up on its back and steady the device with one hand while pressing Enter again with the other.

Your calibrated! Use back key to get out of the app. Then cycle your screen off and on (power button off/power on) and your rotation lag should be fixed.

Thanks for your help, its very appreciated! For the record, I did not extract it, that's how it downloaded. I triedit twice to be sure. I'll try searching for the file in the morning. Thanks again!

Something is happening on your end because the file comes as one zip file when downloaded. You would not click on a link and have 4 or 5 separate files download from a single link and that is not how it is packaged.

So tonight i had my phone and i've been using this rom for about a week now, and it was the first time i turned the phone off, switched batteries, turned it back on and it sat at boot screen

at this time i've done a reset through clockwork recovery and it took care of it, just kinda curious as to why it did that

browser problems

still having browser issues with Syn. Freezing, Links not working. Slow. Wiped and flashed three times. Everytime there was a problem. I don't know if I did anything wrong. Going back to BS for now.

I was on baked snack before and my battery lasted for around 11 hours or so. Now with new rom SRF 1.1.0 (takiya) my battery lasted between 6 or 7 hours. I do not know why? . I think I am going back to BS as well.

Sounds like you need to recalibrate your battery. After flashing the ROMs
