[ROM][ACS]SyndicateROM Frozen 1.2 (Updated 6/20)

I think its still broke with EC05 for some. There is the manual method .

[HOW TO] Update your PRL manually (EPIC 4G) - xda developers

Edit: Ran fine for me, I started EB13 but flashed Syndicate a EC05 based ROM.

Weird that it ran fine for you, I came from EB13 as well, what were you installation steps?
I went from, your rom AC, to flashing the ec05 modem, then wipex3, and installing ACS :/

btw manual updating worked perfectly :D!
Thank you, but still could you answer my question? so i can just do it hassle free xD

I did the same steps Kikoshi. EB13 EXT4>EC05 Modem in Odin>Follow up by flashing Syndicate

I have never had an issue ever updating my PRL whenever I did try it just to see for testing purposes, so maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones kinda like GPS... I've always had no troubles... I guess I rolled the dice and got the good device..,

Same here, my PRL always updates perfectly fine, in fact I didn't even know until reading it here that updating the PRL was ever a problem lol. But then again my GPS also works, never had the TWS bug, and my phone is 100% stable on every frequency from 100mhz to 1.4ghz so take my phone's results with a grain of salt lol.

Odd, well the GPS hasn't been giving the problems many people have posted, just for the first time, the PRL when in ACS didn't update, it updated with your rom.
Btw did you use titanum backup for the apps+data by anychance? i don't see how will installing all my app backups and data would break the PRL updating service.

Actually I stopped using Titanium and MyBackup... When we lost the Android Setup Wizard auto backup/restore when EB13 arrived I gave up :(

Now I just manually do my apps. Heck with the data... LOL..

mybackup root? That **** works incredibly well.

Yes... I have it but a few times I did do data restores only and it ended up corrupted or messed up my ROM sending it into FC's. So I just said heck with it and manually do my 10-15 apps I use and I don't keep any important data that requires backups... Google takes care of my contacts/calendars and thats all I need...

Yeah, what the hell is up with that?!? And why is it not working with EC05 either?

It has never been confirmed, I have asked many of the devs at XDA about this because I wanted to get it working on ACE ROM for EB13 but I really think Google did something on their end to stop this from working anymore since the release of EB13 and it carried over to EC05.

Everything is there that needs to be, I've checked many times so something is blocking it from actually activating.

Booooooo..... a big fat -1 for whoever skipped over that in their self-indulgent infomercial to the company heads....

This is great

I lost my Memo's app, that I liked and had backed up with Titanium, I cant seem to find it there? Any Suggestions?

Also coming from a Pre where Kernels meant watching the temperature gauge all the time, is this not necessary with Android's OS?

Thx

Post #2, Syndicate Thread at XDA look for a link saying "Removed Stock Apps (mirror)"

Not really, occasionally there have been reports of overheating but those are isolated issues that kernel devs are aware of. If you do have any of these problems just report it to the dev of the kernel your using.

Well, this is interesting. When I flashed Vision yesterday I didn't bother doing any kind of calibration and it was at like 50% when I flashed it. This morning I calibrated it, and set up some new profiles in setCPU (I was using overclock widget before). On SRF 1.02 with Twilight, battery use was "okay" aside from that glitch I had. On Vision it was worse as expected, but not "too" bad. Now with the same ROM, and the setCPU tweaking with the calibration I just went two hours with the phone in my pocket. I used it to take some pictures for a couple min. It's still at 100% battery :). Previously it dropped to 98% almost instantly, and in sleep would use a couple percent per hour. Having it fully charged after 2 hours is simply insane. I'm sure some of it is the calibration, but I STRONGLY suspect it's the switch to setCPU managing the processor much, much better. Now that I'm using it again, it's dropping pretty quick (1.4ghz will do that lol) but the massive improvement in conservation while asleep is a Godsend.

In regard to the temperature thing, since going to 1.4ghz I've been watching my temps. It usually sits around 87 F in light use, hits about 91, 92 at most under heavy use. I've seen it hit 95 for a second or two, but thats where I have it set to drop to 1ghz. Even blasting it at 1.4ghz the temps are pretty manageable (at least on my phone), no reason to worry about the "normal" kernels at 1.2ghz or so at all.

lmao, I know how that feels, but just the part of not having to enter your Configuration options ect, makes it good to use.
Thanks for the info and help as always man :), and yeah what happened to the auto Install/Download of the market apps? wth lol

If you're concerned, SetCPU lets you enable profiles that will UC and UV your processor automatically if they reach a certain temperature.

Calibration does help, as we talked about before... ;) But, using screen-off profiles in SetCPU can indeed help - and if you don't have much running, the CPU won't scale up to anywhere near 1.4ghz. It'll likely hover around the lower steps, which are nicely undervolted.

EDIT: Anyone know why my signature image isn't working? There doesn't seem to be any mention in the forum rules about sig images requiring a certain post count, and it's not a height issue.
