[ROM][ACS]SyndicateROM Frozen 1.2 (Updated 6/20)

Well... I did just get a phone lockup when screen went off - wouldn't rewake, nothing when plug charger in.

I already had SetCPU set to 200 mhz minimum, so not sure what's up there. My previous issue with this was solved by uninstalling YouMail and reflashing SRF - hadn't had a single lockup since... So this is a little worrisome.

I'll see if it does it again. If so, I'll Nandroid back to my SRF 1.1.0 until I can get something figured out therein...

Damn. Just like that. 10 seconds after screen off, phone won't come back.

Bummer! I'll have to go back to 1.1.0 for now. Unless someone has any thoughts on the matter, that is!

Edit: I did, before flashing 1.1.1, do 3x data/factory, cache and dalvik wipes...

If you keep having problems, even after setting it to 200mhz min, just flash a different kernel

Not sure if this is significant, but I keep getting a missed call notification upon reboot, even though I've cleared it a billion times.

*shrug*

Devil in the details, and all!

In SetCPU, set governor to Conservative. Boom, problem solved!

Sounds like you flashed a kernel that does not have root built it. Just run the one-click root again to fix it.

well rag the thing is that im using the normal Kernel that comes with 1.1.1 Lol:confused: may i ask though which one to use? hm so the ec05 and after doing the re-root, just flash the rom 1.1.1 again? since the rooting flashes a different kernel, unless im wrong

Then you should have root access. When you open Titanium Backup, does it say you're rooted or not?

If you are having problems with the phone not waking; did you try uninstalling SetCPU and using voltage control instead? I haven't seen it in the epic forums but in the fascinate forums when you use the kernels that allow custom undervolting SetCPU does not work as intended. Also FWIW I have never seen a significant gain in battery life using voltage control to undervolt each step; just use voltage control to manage the overclocking. My phone remains stable with some heavy undervolting and it still will not make a significant difference in battery life. Also another thing mentioned in the Fascinate forums with the custom undervolting kernels; you are supposed to wipe battery stats after changing voltage controls.

Well guys and gals, what a great ROM from FS... I had to go into my overclock utility, set to 400 minimum and conservative to fix the not wake up problem, but now is very stable and solid going on a week now. If your pone will not wake up... pull battery, go into your overclock utility, set at 200 or 400 if 200 will not work, and set to conservative... problem solved. Enjoy

Whew! The conservative setting took care of the issue, and I'm full go on srf 1.1.1!

Thanks to those who helped!

Titanium works perfectly, so yep it tells me i have root. Thats why i dont understand why this other programs are giving me problems

I went ahead and updated to the newest SRF (1.1.1) and am loving it. Have been running it since Saturday morning and have yet to have any issues (knock on wood). Awesome ROM so far!

Samsung should take a lesson from ACS on how to put out a stable rom. I'm not an overclocker but enjoy the other benefits of root. SRF (1.1.1) is smooth.

Just thought I'd share with you that my battery has lasted 1 day so far and I'm only at 50% I'm not sure if this is possible or even remotely accurate but that is what my phone says. I'm in love with SRF 1.1.1

I can confirm this with my SGS: As a kind of test, I wanted to see just how long a charge would last, so with minimal useage of the phone, I've gone 38 hours without plugging in (phone is currently at 15%).

My set up:
Sydicate ROM Frozen, 1.1.1 with the Epic Dark Horse Theme
SetCPU at 1000 / 400, Conservative
Minimal useage equals: Read about 20 emails, read/sent 6 texts, took two phone calls, about 45 minutes worth of games/web and Market surfing for a total of 2 hours screen time. Phone on 3G exclusively, no use of WiFi, minimal use of GPS (checked local weather a few times), screen brightness on "Auto", and volume levels at medium.

I'll update this post later with battery stats of my normal useage for comparison. So far, really liking the ROM!

I figured that out when I was having issues on waking. Was still using "ondemand" in SetCPU, like you could in previous versions of the kernel. Flipped to "conservative" and all is well. Undervolted now getting AMAZING battery life even OC'ed to 1.2GHz.

I know in general that restoring apps after flashing a ROM is discouraged, but should it make a difference going from SRF 1.1.0 to SRF 1.1.1?

Upgrading in SRF does an automatic backup/restore of all apps and settings.
