[ROM] Android Open Kang Project- Jelly Bean Style

Running Preview 4 today, and I can watch the battery drain like it's being sucked through a straw. =/

Anybody know if it's the kernel that comes with AOKP p4? Or can recommend a better one? I didn't see any mention of which kernel it's packaged with.

Running in a weak signal area will cause the battery to drop fast.

I ran the stock kernel for a few days and saw no draining issues.

I tried Franco, Stock, Trinity on AOKP. I can say the franco was good, but the Trinity has been even better. The 1344-307 kernel has to be the most solid "Experimental" build ive ever used.

Did you happen to dirty flash to P4? If so, please read this post from RW explaining the reason for long boots. It has something to do with a new file system check introduced to the boot sequence in JB.

no DF for me, I read and listen when switching roms I do a clean wipe and than flash, I did the clockwork cleaning in TWRP,, flashed AOKP P4 and than the 7-17 gapps, reboot system, took a long totime to reboot, and than the wonderful time spent downloading the apps. Than had to get the file that was missing for text to speech.

You do NOT have to fix permissions. Since gingerbread its not necessary and can cause more harm than good. Any dev who tells you you need to is not worth a lick... Or maybe is giving you some weirdly experimental stuff to flash, idk.

Just words of wisdom :) everything else Poseign mentioned is solid.

Text to speech was on my flash, but YouTube And G+ needed to be downloaded. (7/26 gaaps from Goo.Im)
