Setting an alarm isn't working on B1 any fixes for this? Keeps force closing

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Sounds like you did something wrong. Did you do a dirty flash or a clean flash? Also, any time an app does not work, clear the app's data and cache in app management first.

My alarm works. In fact it just woke me up. Fix permissions maybe?

Edit: Listen to dmmarck first. He has a lot more experience at this than I do.

The gallery works better than it did. It has picasa- instant upload stuff but not the pictures that are saved on the phone. Any ideas?

Look in the SDcard for any .nomedia files. We have a thread related to this in this section. Look for "Your Missing Pictures, Songs..."

Anybody on AOKP build 1 from JB Sourcery v2? If so, how do they compare? I used to think of AOKP as the king of customizations (certainly on ICS) but I can't see it having even remotely close to what's available on JBSourcery. It has everything...even modding softkeys, notification bar backdrop, modding app icons, modding each individual icon in the status bar, flashing kernels, and a bunch I haven't even found yet all from its rom manager. So, am I wrong to think AOKP has been dethroned?. I should note I haven't been on AOKP in about 2 weeks and CNA has been my daily driver.

No. The modifications JBSourcery has are essentially links to mods through an apk. Not necessarily customizations that should be given credit to the rom itself, but links to kernels, etc. To me, those simply don't count. I want customizations built into the rom itself, not necessarily the ability to flash a bunch of stuff that was put together. In a way, it's sorta like theme chooser, which, while neat, doesn't count in my book either.

For feature packed stuff, roms are based on 1 of 2--CM or AOKP.

Open source is a beautiful thing, my man. I understand what you're saying to a degree, but AOKP and CM have pieces from other devs as well. Not to mention devs that are involved with ABC rom can also be a part of XYZ rom, like a famous band that also does side projects. I give them credit for having it all built into their rom manager. I used to have to flash little mods piece by piece as I found most themes overbearing. Now, it's as simple as changing the softkey color in ABC rom. No other JB rom I've tried has this feature. Not even close and I've tried a lot. Plus, performance is as good as I've found. So, Team Sourcery definitely deserves credit. Mind you I have zero affiliation.

Perhaps what I should've asked is what does AOKP Build 1 have that previous builds did not? Is the performace up to what their standards were on ICS? Not trying to offend anyone as I know AOKP has quite a fanbase. D you rock their case so you pretty much have to run it :p

No doubt, although that feature is not new in the least--droidtheory had something similar in early PZ/AXIOM builds. The "one stop shop" for mods, really. I mean it's great, they deserve credit, but in no way do I believe that puts them above CM, AOKP, or anyone else. It just eliminates a step in getting it yourself. Also, the soft key color--that was AOKP :)--check navigation bar settings. (At least as far as I can remember on ICS). It's currently in build 1. You can also change the individual icons, so long as you have a png image to replace it. I believe they were the first to do that as well, but I digress :).

I don't want to disparage them in the least, they seem to do a fantastic job and I will flash it one of these days (probably this weekend) to take a peek.

Build 1 has as many "unique" features as any other rom out there, aside from CNA which uses bits from CM (lockscreen targets, notably). I presume lockscreen targets will be in there sooner than later. What separates it from other AOKP previews and other roms, for me, is the speed and care gone into its development. It's not a mish mash, but a ground up job. Having compiled and toyed with rom development myself, that is such a hard task it's almost impossible to comprehend, so a group like them will get credit (in my book) over a group like CNA or whatever, simply because one way is the harder, more quality way of doing things.

But like you said, open source is a dream and thank god for all of these choices :).

And I have 4 cases, so I'm not tied to a rom because of a case!

I was running JBSourcery V1 for a couple days, but had a couple reboot issues, so I jumped ship to MIUI for JB, just for something different. :p

But I agree that the ability to have all the tweaks built in without having to flash the stuff makes JBSourcery very cool, IMO.

But like dmmarck said, I also recognize that little to none of the work is their own, simply links to other stuff by other folks. But I'm ok with it, as long as they give due credit, which it seems they have done.

About to jump off this MIUI ship too, it's just simply fugly. Gonna ride the Unicorn again. Dropped Build 1 on my wife's fresh-off-ebay gnex last night, she loves it.

Is MIUI still laggy? Tried it on ICS, made me feel like I was on Froyo.

If you used AOKP in its late ICS days you can compare the official build 1 jb rom to those. So far the only features I have seen that the JB aokp is lacking over ICS aokp are the longpress actions on the volume and power buttons while the screen is off (they havent been implemented yet) Customizable lock screen target apps, the amount of apps you can put on the lock screen, the style of lockscreen you can use, and thats really about it, or at least all I can remember. JB aokp added new features too. For instance, you dont need to use lightflow anymore to customize your LED for individual apps, AOKP implemented their own LED customizations in JB Build 1 that works for multiple different apps. The notification screen wallpaper can be changed. I'm sure im missing more but you get the gist.

I wanted to try out JB Sorcery but decided against it. I've always been an avid follower of AOKP and randomly flashing a rom just for a few hours to check it out hasnt really ever tickled my fancy. It did look good though.

Android FTW!! Definitely knew about softkeys on AOKP. Used to be my daily driver;) Also, I do take the time to read credits so I see who's responsible for what in roms. AOKP has received the lions share of my donations, too. I ran Sourcery v1 for a day but couldn't live without my other two apps on the lockscreen so I jumped ship. As soon as I saw it was built into v2, amoungst other cool things, I went back. Loving it thus far. Honestly I can't seem to keep myself from flashing something new for longer than two days so I'll get a taste of AOKP's official builds soon enough. Glad to hear it's looking good and I definitely respect the hard work and time they put into building their rom from scratch. Still, I love the "stitched" roms with lots of customizations as long as performace is top notch as well. Keeps me occupied between flashing:D

For some reason I can't like/thank you (no buttons...but eveyone else has them). Well thanks and I like this! LOL. Trust me, try Sourcery. You won't be going anywhere after a few hours unless you just want to. Could probably spend a few hours just looking at all the customizations. Probably my new DD. I've seen the LED option on a few roms, but I still use LightFlow so I can just restore my settings. I definitely need the volume/power options with the screen off as I stream Pandora all day. That's a deal breaker. AOKP was my first, so it'll always be special to me:p

I'm still recovering from crackflashing on JellyBro, what's the latest for AOKP ? I'm currently running the 819 build...
