@Raunchy_Jesus We haven't "changed" the Thunderbolt launch date - since we haven't announced it yet.

that to me says alot. cant change a date or confirm a date thats never been announced.

They aren't going to announce the phone a day in advance. It's their flagship device. We have at least a week lead on the release.

Also, if you pull the last several phone launches you will find that the average is about a week. That makes their ninja release less likely.

This was Phil's response in my thread call February 14th 2011 Fail. The countdown to 24th begins and Phil's source tested. Regardless Android Central is a great forum and the people run it are great as well.

I've said it before...I think the release is gonna sneak up on us much like an actual Thunderstorm...That there would be bad ass marketing: the girl counting down the closer we get to release, this new commercial and then bam they just hit us with it lol

I really don't think there are issues with the network. I think Verizon is really concerned with the stress that that added load may put on it, mainly because their network is their strongest point. No one's built an LTE network and deployed handsets on it yet (at least not on this scale), so I think Verizon is just really concerned that it goes well.

There have been known and documented 3g/4g handoff issues with the network and the new 4g aircards. rumor is that it has been fixed, but no official word on that yet

Not really trying to stoke the fires, but I thought I'd share my funny experience talking to a manager at a Verizon corporate store. I went in asking about my NE2 credit, and then about the TB. The employee didn't know specifics, so she pulled the manager over. He says "let me check the system to see if I can reveal the date yet", reads for a bit, then says that there is no date.
I ask "Wait, there's no date, or you know it but aren't allowed to say it?"
Him *wink* "There's no date" *wink*
Me "I've heard the 24th from a few places, can you nod yes or no?"
Him "It might be around then" *wink*
Me "So I'll be back on Thursday then, right?"
Him "Hey man, I didn't say anything, but if you feel like coming in to chit chat I welcome your company" points directly at his eye for another wink.

This is, of course, just another unconfirmable source, but I had a good laugh, and will be going back in the store on Thursday

Just got off a chat with a VZW guy and I was trying to work out free activation and so I said I would have to get by Tbolt this Saturday to save $35 (x 3 lines). He told me to be careful they may be sold out by this Saturday but then told me not to worry I might be able to put it on back order.
