Not really trying to stoke the fires, but I thought I'd share my funny experience talking to a manager at a Verizon corporate store. I went in asking about my NE2 credit, and then about the TB. The employee didn't know specifics, so she pulled the manager over. He says "let me check the system to see if I can reveal the date yet", reads for a bit, then says that there is no date.
I ask "Wait, there's no date, or you know it but aren't allowed to say it?"
Him *wink* "There's no date" *wink*
Me "I've heard the 24th from a few places, can you nod yes or no?"
Him "It might be around then" *wink*
Me "So I'll be back on Thursday then, right?"
Him "Hey man, I didn't say anything, but if you feel like coming in to chit chat I welcome your company" points directly at his eye for another wink.

This is, of course, just another unconfirmable source, but I had a good laugh, and will be going back in the store on Thursday

I wonder if when Verizon actually announces the phone, if the price will still be the 249? The best buy ad was apparently printed weeks ago when the release date was the 14th. Since then we seen the Inspire 4g at 99 and the dual core atrix at 199. Back at the end of January, 249 for TB didn't seem that bad as it was the same price as the epic, but now it seems too high.

I've always been able to have the phone cost charged to my VZW bill, I would assume that if your account is in good standing you should be able to.

My Droidx is packed and ready for shipment tomorrow... I'm on an old BB 8830..soooo painful. At least I have my SGTab though. All this speculation is killing me.

j/k..I will be checking every hour on the hour to see if it has come out yet..or at least to hear more stories of what everyone's Verizon rep told them. Someone should start a new thread.."What my Verizon rep told me" ... we could make a story book out of it... the sequal will be "What Bestbuy told me". Here's what my rep told me "its still not showing up on the computer yet" Okay... how much will 4G coverage be? Will it cost the same as the $30 3G coverage? "Yes, its the same price".

Ok, so i was looking around on the verizon site just to see if there was any new info... Chat pops up so what the heck...
It really ticks me off that they will let a seemingly unknowing consumer waste 1/4 workday to go to a store knowing the phone is not available.
Of course, i am sure that it ticks them off that people waste half their time with mundane questions (but at least they are getting paid for it)

There have been known and documented 3g/4g handoff issues with the network and the new 4g aircards. rumor is that it has been fixed, but no official word on that yet

Verizon announced that they found the issue on December 13th, as well as Mac incompatibility. Mac compatibility has been fixed. I highly doubt that the handoff issue is not fixed, especially considering the networking companies that VZW works with have been working overtime on the issue.

If there is an issue that is holding back the phone, this isn't it.

They aren't going to announce the phone a day in advance. It's their flagship device. We have at least a week lead on the release.

Also, if you pull the last several phone launches you will find that the average is about a week. That makes their ninja release less likely.

Since when has this launch been a typical VZW one? They will announce the phone when its ready. If its the day before it goes on sale, so be it. They are not going to artificially delay the phone by a week if its ready now, especially if that's a delay from their original launch date.

I really think some of you are underestimating how seriously Verizon is taking this. They're not ****ing around, and won't be playing those games.

As little as 2 weeks ago, I have worked with the 4g cards that were having the handoff issue. It was not fixed in December

Will the price for the Bolt be the same in VZW stores as it is online? I'd prefer to preorder it but if they're not doing preorders I'll swing by my VZW store at opening assuming the online price is the same as in store.
