Flashing CWM:

If you have the outdated ClockworkMod, and would like the new one, this is how to upgrade:

  1. Download cwm-recovery-ALL.tar to your desktop.
  2. Download update.zip and move it to your SD card.
  3. Use ODIN to flash cwm_froyo.tar.
  4. You should now be able to boot into the new ClockworkMod.

Use the following steps to boot into ClockWorkMod moving forward (start with phone powered off):

  1. Press & hold the volume up and down buttons at the same time. Do not let go. Now press and hold the power button. You will see the Samsung logo display, disappear, and then reappear. Now let go of all buttons.
  2. You will now see a blue menu. Use the volume buttons to select & the home button as an enter button in this screen.
  3. Select apply "sdcard:update.zip"
  4. You should now boot into ClockWorkMod. From here you can do things like flash zips on your SD card, and do full system backups using Nandroid. Use the volume buttons to select & the power button as an enter button incWM.

ok I flashed the cwm all tar thru odin. wheres the cwm-froyo tar?
I was able to flash DJ05/ DL09 zip
now im stuck in red cwm.....I can't get out of it....it keeps booting into it.

ok I just reflashed the test engineers EB01......start from scratch...

so since this is completely stock, i am correct in saying it does NOT offer theme support, right?

Well first I just want to give thanks to Adrynalyne and DroidXcon for testing and tweaking these updates for us. Also thanks to Corey for explaining things in
terms that us non-tech/engineer guys can understand. I saw these post awhile back but I always like to wait a bit to see how everyone else responds. I work at at a 3rd party activation company (hint: people always seem to find pix of our inventory screens when new phones get ready to release) and I'm always telling customers that the best problems are always solved through the fabulous forums.
I Decided to go for my update today! Wish me luck dudes. If the sh... don't work for me, no harm no fowl i have a few back up phones. Plus maybe we'll see the Thunderbolt in the next couple days and Ill just cop that one;)

Actually flashed this again and I'm very happy. Seems to give me the speed I was accustomed to w froyo and hopefully some nice battery life to go w it. Stinks I can't customize w themes, but oh well. Quite satisfied. Thanks to the usual crew.

battery life with this is...not good. its terrible actually, right on par with my htc incredible's battery life. can barely make it through lunch without seeing a red bar. turned off wifi and gps and it does not seem to be helping...

Maybe download again, flash the dl01 package in Odin and make sure that EVERYTHING gets wiped, Indiana. That's what I did, make sure you get all the changed partitions back to stock then flash from scratch. My battery isn't great, but that's froyo for ya :P. You should be reporting better battery life than that, imo.

had to reinstall the drivers and taking it out of debugging mode helped, but still have the old market> read the previous' posts and hopefully the battery life will get me through the day>

well i finally tried something that worked. i removed my live wallpaper and battery life seems MUCH better. now i know live wallpaper uses SOME battery, but this was ridiculous. stock fascinate with the exact same live wallpaper lasted easily through the entire day. with eb01 it only made it to noon as i mentioned previously.

turned off gps, no change. turned off wifi, no change. removed live wallpaper, bingo.

one thing i noticed on these non-official froyo's is that no matter how you lower the brightness or use standard wallpaper, and even timeout at 30 sec, the display is burning the battery right down i dont even make it 8 hours at work on a full battery even after all the "tips and tricks". so i reverted back to stock. i need a phone with juice to enjoy the goodness of froyo.

Hey Cory, New to all this but if I follow the steps at the beginning my phone would look like yours in the video you made?
