haven't been keeping up very seriously, but i haven't heard anything about rc5 - there is some kind of disconnect between the bamf team and mik team, bc mik team has the newer leaked gb build but isn't really sharing it, or at least this was the case a week or two ago, don't really know the up to date news about this stuff.... so things may have changed. but last i knew, rc5 wasn't on it's way or anything.
would be nice to get a new bamf drop tho. gingeritis 3d is nice and all but i miss some of the clutch bamf features.
I am relatively new to the android scene. I bought my Thunderbolt on the release date and with all the problems it was encountering with the supposed updates I started reading up on rooting and installing different roms. I was kind of leery to start with as I have never really messed with something while it was under warranty but with all the bloatware and problems I continued studying and yesterday I rooted my phone and installed cm7 to start with. It wasn't long before I found out this wasn't working for me. I then installed BAMF Sense 3.0 RC4.9. This is a GREAT rom. I installed the MR 2 radio and have had no real problems so far and I spent about 15 hours of solid use trying to put it through its paces. Kudos to the devs on this rom. You guys rock!! It's just so disappointing that roms can be developed on the sidelines and you have to wait for a messed up update to come from your carrier. This has me convinced, android forever and root is the only way to go. I am really looking forward to the new RC 5 I keep hearing about to flash and give it a whirl. The only thing I have really encountered is the battery life but from what I have read all smart-phones have this problem when you get into the larger screens. I have the extended battery on this phone and after playing with it all day I finally went to bed at 11:30 pm with 23% battery left. ROOTING is the only way to go!!

Not sure if I should be posting this here or not...but the BAMF guys seem to play pretty nice with Android Central, so I'm going to assume that it is OK.
Don't know about "RC5"...but this is the latest thing they are working on...and judging by the sound of it, it's pretty close to being ready for prime time...Uber BAMF:

A new ROM based of whatever this "new" GB leak is, with the best of both Sense 2.1 and 3.0 worlds baked in.
I'm running Das BAMF Sense 3.0 RC4.9 and I'm having a problem with Google Music. I can open the app but when I hit play on a song to stream, it crashes.
Is this a know problem?

The ad blocking feature in the toolkit causes problems with Google Music. Turn off ad blocking and Google Music should work fine. If you want to block ads, get AdFree from the Market and use that instead.

Has anyone experienced better battery life with this ROM? I do love the features and the speed but my main reason to root was to try and improve battery life. I myself do not feel their is an increase in battery life.
If you really want to see a noticeable increase in battery life, a Gingerbread Sense-based ROM is probably not where you're gonna find it...Some ROMs may be better than others, but I wouldn't expect any drastic improvements until at the very least the kernel source is made available.
I was getting better battery life with BAMF 1.8.6 (Froyo), but I've been using this version too long to go back now.
I personally like Sense 3.0 enough to deal with the battery life, but I do hear folks claiming to get much better battery life with some of the AOSP and non-Sense ROMs.
Unfortunately this didn't resolve the problem. Im still getting a Force Close the moment I hit play.

I switched to this ROM last night and I can play Google Music just fine. Do you have any other apps that might be interfering?
I'm having radio problems. I've tried every radio from here:

And still seem to have intermittant connections. Sometimes will drop down to just 1X service other times will lose connection completely. Any Ideas?

If you haven't rebooted, give that a try. Also, clear data and cache on Google Music. Reinstalling Google Music may be worth a try as well.

I just did all of that with the same result.
The odd thing is that it will play music stored on my card but wont play anything I have stored in the cloud. Its like it crashes when trying to start streaming down to my phone.
Did you see if it works on wifi. Before I learned of the ad blocking fix (which worked for me), streaming through wifi first would get it working over the cell network.

I will try the WiFi trick this evening when I get home and report back my findings.
