Thanks VIP_202. Just need to verify that I can get contacts and apps back before I flash. Finding and reentering contacts is a pain. TT just isnt doing it. Lost a bunch when I soft bricked.

I am using it. What I meant is my phone is an LG. Not a Sony.

I have to ask this, those of you that are overclocking, do you have a case on your phone? It seems that no matter what I do, I get the screen shift when my phone temp hits about 85 and that's a regular occurrence.

you can back it up to your google account you know? Or you can go to the contacts, menu button>import/export>export to SD it then saves a vcard in the root of your sd that has all your contacts, easiest way i've been doing it.

So everyone is trying to get a version of 2.3.7 to run without a hitch on there phone but I wonder if we need to bother with the 2.3.7 as far as I have been able to find out the only improvements between 2.3.5 and 2.3.7 are for another phone which means they don't affect us at all. Unless someone knows something it seems like the more stable 2.3.5 ROM should be looked at rather than trying to force the 2.3.7 ones to run. I know I want the coolest highest number too but is there really a point?... I'm seriously asking here not trying to be smart.

Actually, 2.3.7 has been more stable for me than 2.3.5. Yet everyone else can overclock where I can't. I don't know why.

I have been running MMatt's ROM (2.3.5) for a while now and the only issue I have run into was the lock screen delay, and that seems to be universal to all the ROMs if you don't use a live wallpaper. I haven't tried overclocking it yet but I don't really care to at this point.

Well I don't know what was going on with my phone but, for the one ICS 4.0 themed rom i was talking about i was getting kernel panics from that today, when i plugged it into my pc... Weird that it was happening but i'm not gonna bother finding out why. So just a heads up to any users of it, i was messing with clock settings so that could be why, as certain clocks were giving me kernel panics.

Do you have a case? I seem to get kernel panics at any speed with temps. I had to create a profile in setcpu to avoid it. I'd rather keep the speed up but I just can't do it.

no don't have a case, was just testing out different clocks and depending what i did my phone froze or completely effed up.lol So i know what to sit at if i wanna clock other than that i doubt i will clock much.

There's no ring lock on 2.3.5 but there is on 2.3.7 (from my experience). Also, the ICS mod only worked for me as a morph. Just a heads up.

yea i think it doesnt work cuz the mod was for cm7.1 (2.3.7) and we are on 2.3.5, and at 2.3.7 i always get a com.android.phone after a few reboot so i rather just stick to this, but 2morrow ill start on the new project and seeing more into the p500 kernel and appy as much as i can! wish me good luck and ill keep u guys updated
