Joban... Is this new kernel going to be for designed for 2.3.7 or for the older 2.3.5 thats seems to be more stable with your past kernel releases? Just wondering if Im looking at reinstalling a different ROM or just updating the kernel?

depends on what rom u have? if u have 2.3.7 then we can try just flashing the kernel on top.

anyone else notices a huge battery drain on the cyanogenmmatt? i just switched to the ICS themed rom, still has the com.android.phone error but worth it in my point of view!

I just moved my ATT sim back to the new thrive with 2.2.2 froyo. It's just more functional right now. The old thrive is on the side waiting patiently......If you have a rom you would like me to try, just let me know. And throw me the download link for it.

I need a working bluetooth headset. Forced 2g would be very nice but not a necessity. Shutting off data when not in use is working for me on both phones.

Ok so i am gonna switch to gingercuzt v1.4, do i need to wipe everything? or just cache related stuff?

Do not take my word. But if your flashing from a previous version you should be fine. I am assuming that its and you currently have sonygen mod. If your flashing from something not sonygen then wipe everything. I would recommended wiping all though. Don't forget to back up.

I am running CyanogenMatt and have just paired and connected my bluetooth headset. It is working. I had the initial problem of paired but not connected. I shut off my headset, turned it back on and my phone asked if I wanted to connect. And it did. It works. I shut it down, re-powered the headset up again, and it connected automatically. This rom is looking good. No problems so far. I have my PAYG t-mo Sim in for now. If it stays stable, I will move over my ATT sim!

I wondered if shutting off headset after pairing, then turning it back on would have gotten past the problem of not connecting on the other roms?

No errors so far!

I'd say so. Come to think of it, I initially had that issue with my car's Bluetooth pairing. I guess that's what fixed mine but I'm old and my memory is fading. I think.

I am using Cyanogenmmatt's ROM it does seem to eat the battery a bit faster. Calibrating the battery seems to help some, but yeah the battery life sucks. I have found that turning the data off when Im not using really boost the battery time. I would also switch to the CPU to ondemand for the for powersavings. doing this I get about 15-18 hours of usage out of the phone... the real power eater seems to be the bluetooth and the 3G.

What helped for me was setting an underclocked profile in setcpu for when the screen is off and have my phone set to performance and at the stock clock speed when in use. Nets me about 20-22 hours with regular use. A lot less with heavy use, obviously.

The bluetooth headset works. I don't know about sending or receiving files. If you send me "How to do that 'idiot instructions' I will try it for you!"

Also, I just put my ATT sim in so I'll compare battery life to the 2-3 days I get on Froyo.

Just read up on this one and it seems to have a lot of problems on the phone it was developed for. How will it go for ours? Do you think your kernel be make it work better on our phone? I'm downloading it now. I'll have to see how ambitious I get tomorrow.

I'm with buzzman. The first page seems like he has it figured out, but the last page doesn't reflect that. Some where in the last few pages its stated that it wont work on p500. I do have it downloaded just incase I missed or didn't understand something.

Just want to add- the last 2 roms I played with- the sonygen and now cyanogenMatt- When I started messing with the 2g/3g settings- whether with power settings widget or the cyanogen settings themselves- it really messed up the system with one constant error with force close, made it unusable, and actually crashed it till i reflashed the cyangenMatt. I will stay away from the 2g/3g settings from now on. That seems to be the real problem. As long as I didn't try to change settings all was well. Back to the t-mo sim and resetting it up.
