well nothing to be excited about that rom! it was just a cm7 with ICS launcher n theme! nothing soo special there! But there is work on the P500 ICS rom which andy is making but looks like i need to make many changes to the kernel to make it work. Hes doing a goodjob! It boots n now fixed the GPS. But i say it will take about a month for a working build.

We may have to bribe joban with some more money once ICS comes for the P500... Im sure the magic will work better in the fingers with some extra coffee/beer money.

what he needs is the devs to answer his question on why he gets the error when compiling the kernel.

or i think i like coffee/money idea better! well guys schools almost done and finals next week so im gonna try to focus on that first and ill put right on ICS! All i gotta say ICS wont work by just installing the P500 with my kernel, it needs alot more work, and maybe even a P505 specif rom. One way getting close to ICS is getting .35 kernel, and Im getting alot of compiling errors and no dev wants to help me! So im kinda stuck with the .35.

Lol the andy rom was the one I pointed out, I would love you if you would remake the kernel

Little confused. Xda thread of roms states Phoenix rom under the. 32 kernel and the oxygen rom under the. 35 kernel. WTF. I'm running the oxygen rom.lol fyi you need to read the romthreads to make sure of the kernel.

Yeah I know what you mean about the developers its the same way with any language. I have been coding in c++ and VB for years but they change things every 5 mins and if your not a full time coder they consider you inferior to them for not know everything. I'm pretty certian those same people were idiots noobs at one time themselves. If I had time to learn all the stuff involved I would love to help but I have so many other things on my plate right now its sad. Little tip though you might want to check the irc channel on freenode for cyanogenmod devolpment, the guys in there were great and extremely helpful when I was asking questions about things. They might be all about helping especially if your willing to do some work toward there goal of getting ICS on more phones and im sure they could help with the custom ROM Apparently the only reason they don't do a rom for a phone is they don't have a developer with access to that phone <hint hint>.

If this isn't a question about the Kernel/ROM please start a new thread. This thread is already huge without people throwing a ton of other questions that don't pertain to the topic. Sorry to be a jerk here but it just makes it easier for everyone to find answers if you ask question in the appropriate manner don't hijack threads search for your topic and if it isn't found start a new thread.

But with that said try Go SMS it may work better than what you have and its free from the market.

So good news on the ICS front. There appears to be a few people working on the issue for the P500 so if Joban can work his magic AOSP seems to be heading in the right direction to getting ICS to run on the .35 kernel. This is not Cyanogen so I don't know if all the same rules apply but it looks like its heading in the right direction and the AOSP apparently runs faster and eats less battery but is pretty much a stripped down not frills way of doing things. Might be a good place to build our custom ROM from.

And here is another little interesting post I found for the really brave at heart apparently someone managed to port an IMG file over to boot ICS on the p500 Im wondering if that could be use to run ICS once we get a .35 kernel.

Thanks but I think ill wait for the cyanogenmod team to release their code so its less work! Because right now its all crazy n soo many things need to be made from touchscreen to hardware accelerations and then rest of drivers. And for .35 kernel it looks kinda bad because I had no people from other devs n sorta just gave up. Ill try to look into it again n apply as much ICS as i can. Thank You Everyone!

GUESS WHAT! Its ur lucky day guys! Just compiled the kernel .35 with ICS changes! Now need alot of testing! Especially with the touchscreen! I wish LG gave us .35 source for P505 but we have to do it with the P500 kernel for now!

Hey peeps just for quiefs and giggles I looked the stats between the optimus and Phoenix the only thing I saw was the optimus has a proximity and compass Senor. Everything else is identical. So wtf. Its gotta be the kernel. Yeah? Or is it carrier BS?

They are basically the same phones but they are slightly different in the internals such as the dedicated camera button, however the 505 does have a compass its just not working with any of the ROMs I have tried. It worked fine on stock dont know if this is kernel issue or not not that the compass matters as long as the GPS works. And correct me if im wrong but the proximity sensor is the one that allows the screen to turn off on the when its near your face... not sure but I think we have that too.

Market. But you have to choose p500, optimus one. And don't use any app feature other than to flash cwm.
