[ROM] [05.25.11] Das BAMF 1.7

I know this might sound silly to some, but is there some patch or way to get the "ding" sound when raising/lowering the volume? Maybe I'm in the minority but I happened to like it.

Thanks.

This is not possible and we are all offended that you would even ask.

Actually I would love to have that back too. Either that or another comparable effect.

Use root explorer or something equivalent. Go to system/media/audio/ui and rename the volume-1.mp3 - volume-7.mp3 files to volume-1.mp3.bak and so on for the seven files. This worked for me, but I'm not sure if theres any adverse affects to changing tthose files.

EDIT: Misread the question. Thought you were asking how to remove the sounds from 1.6.3. My bad.

Thanks.

FWIW...The 'ding' sounds are back in 1.6.3 when you raise/lower the volume.

So I've read. But I'm totally happy with 1.6.2 (with the exception of the volume sounds) and I'm not looking to move just yet. Was hoping there would be some simple patch like there seems to be for a lot of stuff people like/don't like.

Thanks.

I've found that I can't easily discern between bold and plain text with this font, which is awesome when looking through my inbox for new emails. I'm also wondering about changing the font back.

I saw this over on XDA: Stock Android Font

I tried flashing it via Clockwork, but it won't work for me. Me thinks i may be doing something wrong.

I have an older version of BAMF installed on my TB.. and I wanted to do a wipe and install the new 1.6.3. Whats the best steps in getting this accomplished?

5 column app drawer

Is there a way to get the 5 column app drawer for 1.6.2 nte like there is for the remix version?

Cyber Warrior's thread on installing ROMs has the step-by-step instructions on how to wipe and install using ClockworkMod (including screen shots). It's one of the stickied threads at the top of the rooting subforum.

Running Bamf Remix 1.6.1

Is it necessary to factory reset to flash 1.6.3 or just clear cache and delvik?

I'm sure you can install it over the existing rom. Since you aren't jumping from one rom to another but I'm curious about this too. Id like to be up to date as well.

I started with remix 1.5 & have only wiped cache & davlik each time I've updated, which has been every time a new version has been out (I'm on 1.6.3 remix now). Haven't had any issues after updating

A buddy of mine just bought a Thunderbolt and I've been helping him get it rooted and running custom ROMs. Root went fine (I used the auto-root method) and installed ClockWork Recovery using ROM Manager. He liked the look of BAMF remix, so I showed him how to install it via ROM Manager. Wiped data and cache.

The ROM installed fine--HTC says "quietly rooted" under instead of "quietly brilliant." It says BAMF instead of 4G on the Thunderbolt screen. The HTC launcher thing is gone from the homescreen and all that jazz. BUT...all of the bloatware is still there. The Verizon, games, and blockbuster apps are still there. What could I have done wrong? Should I maybe try to download the ROM from here rather than through ROM Manager and then apply it directly in ClockWork? UGH, I'm losing my phone exploiting reputation in front of my friend LOL (I've been following Adrynalyne from Omnia, Droid, Fascinate, and now Thunderbolt, so I should know what I'm doing by now). I'm just stumped as to what I could be doing wrong.

Thanks

If you've installed any updates for certain apps (i.e. the Blockbuster app on mine) from the market, they will get installed with everything else when the apps sync, but you should be able to uninstall it, whereas you could not before (you could only uninstall the update).

I just flashed right over 1.6 and we're good to go. Everything running as smooth as usual

Anyone know if 1.6.3 has a different battery icon than 1.6.3 remix? and is 1.6.3 remix only available in CWM? Didnt see a link at the beginning of the forum. I had 1.6.2 remix and liked the clear lock screen and the better detailed battery icon.

Well I went from 1.62 remix to 1.63, it shows the new kernel but for my system it went from saying 1.62 to 1.1?? Everything ran fine but I don't know why it showed that instead of 1.63.

And yes the battery icon went from the circle to the older one which is no big deal for me.

I never used the regular 1.6.3 but the previous versions had the stock battery icon with the percentage inside it instead of the circular version in remix. There's a thread on xda that has a bunch of different battery icons you can swap out if you don't like the one that comes with the rom
