[ROM] [05.25.11] Das BAMF 1.7

I can't get the right menu button to open up the browser. It keeps opening up the personalization screen.

Did you change the option in Rosie? In the app drawer, press Rosie Settings. Use the drop down for the app you want. Just because the icon is there, you still have to "set" the button.

I did a Nandroid and Titanium backup. After installing das bamf, it seemed like all the apps from my backups (including some, but not all, bloatware) were automatically restored. Any way to stop that from happening?

And what do you guys back up when you're about to install a new ROM? Do you use Titanium for all your apps and just restore them after installing the new ROM?

Ok..I've asked a lot of noob questions, and I've been a quick study (now rooted with BAMF 1.6.3 and new radio)...but what is the "right menu button"?

I was lost here too...

Basically, I backed up all my apps using Titanium (and other data using MyBackup). I just backed up all of them in a batch job...just to make sure I had everything.

Once I installed the new ROM, I let all the apps re-install, THEN, using Titanium, restored the data for each individual app that I wanted to have restored settings. In other words, I used a batch job to backup, but then manually restored each app (data only) after they had all been re-installed. Just select the app in Titanium, and select "restore"...it will ask you what you want to restore; for most, I just selected "data". If you have non-market apps that weren't reinstalled automatically, you can re-install the app+data as well, of course.

It was a quick process and worked very well. Not sure if that's the best way to do it, but it worked great for me. A lot of apps I could care less about restoring data...but with the ones that require logon and have cached data I wanted to keep, it was a very quick process to get to where I was before.

I the visual voicemail the VZW one, or a free to use one? I've never used vvm before so I don't really know the deal.

Its not free - I just moved my voicemail over to Google Voice VM (free) which has all the same features (+ more like transcription) and is free :)

Thanks for the reply. So, it automatically starts reinstalling all the apps, right? I don't understand how to make it not install all the bloatware that has been backed up.

The apps you have downloaded it will reinstall automagically...let it.

If you've downloaded any updates for bloatware you've removed...it will install those apps too (but you can uninstall those). For example, I updated the Blockbuster app, so the first time I installed a new ROM it installed the Blockbuster app...even though I had already removed it. The difference was, I was able to uninstall it, whereas I could not before I rooted and removed it.

the key is to NOT to a batch restore...just select the apps you want from the list in Titanium (after clicking on Backup/Restore) and restoring the data for apps you want manually. Again, I backup ALL apps in a batch mode, but only do restores on an app-by-app basis manually. this is still better than than having to re-configure everything.

I just installed 1.6.3 and VVM is gone. Anyway to get this back? Getting the texts is becoming annoying and I loved using vvm.

thanks guys!! awesome rom otherwise!

So i just loaded this via Rom manager and it went in and did its install and after it finished booting up i am still on my current Rom and nothing has changed. ROM manager says i am on 1.6.3. I downloaded the 1.6.3nte from the manager. did i do something wrong? was i suppose to install an older version then update to this? During bootup it does give the BAMF logo and all my system info show the 1.6.3 but nothing on my phone deleted or changed. I did pick up a few new apps but i thought it was going to do a full wipe.

Boot into Recovery via Clockwork Recovery Mod.
Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache, then install the ROM from the menu (Install zip from sdcard)
See if that works.
I'm not a fan or using ROM Manager or Kernal Manager to do the actual work...I try to do everything through CWM.

What kind of battery life are you guys getting? I'm using the Bamf Remix 1.6.3 and dropping about 10% an hour when sending maybe 5 texts or so during that time. Syncing (facebook, google, words with friends.. think that's it) is on. 3g on too. Didn't flash any kernel either. I also lost about 30% while listening to TuneIn Radio on the ride into work today which takes about a half hour.

I'm running the non-remix version and getting pretty decent battery life (4G and wifi).

Well after trying to resist for as long as possible I am taking the plunge into this.

I tried and tried to update the OTA and never could get it to work so I flashed back to stock. ReRooted my bolt. Now im backing up my data through clockwork mod. Going to flash this rom with the updated rru and see how it goes hopefully I can check back in with zero problems.

This Rom doesn't have the new rru update? Can I flash the update on top of having this Rom?
