Did you change the device setting in the app from auto to Epic 4G before enabling it?

Ok mine was a lot worse then a force close it would freeze the phone and i had to odin back to stock has happened 3 times

Several people have posted that doing so fixed the FC issue for them, so it's worth a shot.

just updated facebook to 1.5.2 and now getting FC's. map update not helping this issue although it solved my yelp FC issue.

My problem was fixed with the map patch. Works great now. Hope no more bugs show up.

besides that, this rom is excellent!

are you using root explorer or adb to do that? Those are the methods I have heard you have to use to push things to system/apps

Glad to hear that worked for you.

Running the Syndicate Rom and have a quick question. When pulling down the Notification Menu, it is transparent. Is there a way to make it solid? THANKS!

I am not a huge fan of the transparent notification area either. But I like the rest of the changes visually. You can flash the stock theme from the syndicate thread but I think that would remove everything visually different from normal eb13 not just the transparency.

I would also like it the menu bar to be exactly the way it is, except the transparency. If anyone finds a way, please let us know!

Another thing- I am starting to wonder if I did everything right.. Although everything seems to be working and running normal, I haven't noticed a huge difference like everyone else seems to be noticing.

Is there another step I need to do? All I have done is the froyo ext4 with root , then flashed this rom + the map update. But I have read where people were saying it was so amazingly fast... so far ..to me.. it seems fast, but no more than normal really. Any help would be appreciated as I feel I did something kinda risky when I had no idea what to do, and it worked so I was super lucky, but no real difference..

Thanks !

What were you coming from? If you're comparing Syndicate to a DK28 rom, real world performance probably won't be significantly faster. It should be somewhat faster, however, because of the removal of CIQ.

What sort of benchmarks did you see before and after?

I am only referring to real world use, when people were talking about how it "zooms" I thought that was what they meant. I have never done benchmarks, I only care about actually using it. I was on stock EB13, not rooted or anything.

I don't know what setcpu is and was wondering should I be doing something with that, I dont know, lol.. honestly, I can't believe I did this and didn't mess the phone up!

I'm also looking for cool ideas of what I can do now that I am rooted, lol. Preferably fairly simple ones. thanks =)

Well compared to stock, your system should be zooming. Benchmarks are helpful not necessarily because they equate to real world performance but because they allow us to compare the effects of differing software configurations in a quantifiable way.

For instance, when I flashed Syndicate 1.0 (with the modified libsqlite), my Quadrant scores improved from mid 900s to mid 2200s. What does this mean in real world performance? Zoom. In 1.0.1, k0nane took out the modified libsqlite, and benchmarks dropped a bit to mid 2000s. Yet the rom remains every bit as zoomy.

Download Quadrant from the market and get us a benchmark. It might point to something else going on if you are getting significantly different numbers.

SetCPU for Root Users [2.1.1a] Dual Core Madness 2/27/2011 - xda-developers

SetCPU is a utility which allows you to over or underclock your phone's processor, as well as set profiles that modify performance based on user defined variables. It's an essential tool for any rooter to have, especially since Syndicate 1.0.1. is undervolted at 1Ghz by default. Crank it up to 1.2Ghz for even more speed (use the ondemand governor).

Lotsa cool themes out there, just make sure they explicitly state they are SyndicateFrozen 1.0.1 compatible or they won't work.

ok, did a benchmark and got 1642 will get setcpu now, and set to 1.2 like you said and do another benchmark.

I'm sure its here somewhere, but I really have been reading ALOT through these forums and don't know where I saw it, but how can I get a few stock apps back like the original froyo alarm clock , it was nice..

Thanks for responding quick! I wish there was a chat on this forum!

Thanks, I only want a few maybe, not all of them..I will see if I can select them individually.

In, Set CPU do I click autodetect sppeds? Then what? Thanks

Ok. I think I did this right but I'm not sure. It says scaling ondemand , 1200 max 100 min. is this the correct setting I should have it on for this rom, also do I need to have it set on boot. Sorry, I have never used this program before.

If you want more speed with ~same battery life as stock, then yes this is the right setting. If you want same speed as stock, but better battery life, then set max to 1000. And yes, you should have it set on boot.
