[ROM][ACS]SyndicateROM Frozen 1.2 (Updated 6/20)

Thanks,
I tried to download the original alarm clock back, from the ter thread..it wouldn't work. Said app not installed..but no reason why. I'm not even sure it was the right app, but it didn't work either way.
Can anyone help me on this?
Just want the original alarm clock app, nothing else..but placing it on sd card after unzipped didn't work even after checked ok to install from unknown sources.

Also, benchmark after doing setcpu is 1811. seems others are way higher, something wrong?

Not seeing better battery life

I installed per the instructions and I've seen a definite speed improvement over the stock OTA Froyo. However, my battery life is actually slightly worse. With stock Froyo I could easily go the whole day without recharging, however now I have to recharge the phone while at work. I have the same apps installed and I leave wireless on as I always have.

Any ideas or suggestions? I wouldn't rule out that I have done something wrong. However, everything else appears to be working as it should.

TIA,

You can't install system apps (like Clock) like you install other apps. You have to either
1) flash the zip in CWM, or
2) use a program like Root Explorer or Super Manager to manually move the apk file to /system/app (not on the sd card) and then change its permissions to
[x][x][x]
[x][ ][ ]
[x][ ][ ]

Or 3) use the adb push method (look around the forums for this)

I bought root explorer and when I tried to do this it said "this file is read only" ( I'm assuming it means the system file) so i tried to zip it then flash in Clockworkmod , installation aborted.. I dunno..just hope I didnt screw something up.

fully charged for the second time after installing the rom, watched 1hr of a movie, surfed for another 1hr, about 30min of playing operation sandstorm and my battery life says 72%....

black magic....it's gotta be....

:)

My youtube app started force closing all of a sudden today, its been working fine for the past 2 days since I flashed this rom. Anyone experienced this? If so, what did you do to fix the issue. Thanks

Not sure how you managed that. Yesterday I had a little less than 3 hours of screen on time and at the end of the day I was at 30% left. I did calibrate my battery, so maybe I missed something.

The ROM started FCing EVERYTHIGNG this morning after I tried to use the wifi tether app that is baked in. The wifi tether app made the phone reboot every attempt at use, third or 4th reboot I got nothing but FC on everything making the phone completely unusable. I flashed a nandroid back up of a stock eb13 til I can play around with this some more over the weekend.

While I am not seeing mind blowing battery life that some of you are seeing, the battery life is still pretty good and better than my back up eb13 so I would really like to get this working properly.

Any suggestions? Maybe I should install and use a different wifi tether app?

On the top right of the screen there are two buttons: "R/W" and "R/O". Use these to toggle between read write and read only, respectively.

The WiFi tether app is experimental in nature, it's not the ROM's fault. It's gonna be buggy no matter what you do, but it seems like the greatest success can be had by switching the device's profile to Epic4g, and if you want to use 4g, turn on wi-fi tether BEFORE you connect to 4g.

That's a bug i guess with this rom the installed experimental tether is not stable and the only one that works with this rom I have tried ALL of them... Some times i can use it 5 times no prob others it will just up and die and take the rom with it have to restore with odin and then restore my back up...

One trick i have noticed is if you go in to CWM and clear the catch partition then run tether it does not freeze up near as much after doing this also start it in 3g then go to 4g I hope they make an update to this rom that can use a stable tether app.

Tried to add honeycomb theme and now my phone just sits at the ACS boot animation, occasionally vibrating and making the FC sound.....

Any help? lol

Re-wiped cache and dalvik 3 times each, re-flashed SRF and the phone works, but I would still love to get the theme to work.... lol

Edit: Nevermind, I am dumb/tired/overworked/insertotherexcusehere. Very, very dumb mistake- I figured it out.

FC's fried the ROM within 5 minutes of use. Back to ACE! Stability really is everything...

I've been on verson 1.0.2 for a few hours now, everything is working good so far! loved that it left everything just the way it was! Made it so much easier!! Don't understand the voodoo audio thing though. If anyone has a suggestion of how to set it I will try it. I don't use headphones though, so don't know if that matters. REally cool that he put the battery mod right in for others to be able to pick which one they like, but I like the one it already had. Only think I might change is the transparency in the drop down menu bar. I like the colors of it, just not the transparency. I have seen where I can go back to stock theme, but is there a way to only change the transparency and keep the rest?

i 'think' i have the same issue... it was running fine for a few hours and then i decided i wanted to reboot to wipe out the battery stats since i read you should recalibrate the batt after a new rom flash...

well, holding down the power button rattled off a bunch of FC errors....gmail, UI something...asking me if i felt luck to continue or to reboot...really really odd stuff...

so i rebooted and i got the same FC errors....

in the middle of flashing back the backup version of 1.01 that was on the sd card....maybe then i can try to reflash to 1.02....

not sure if it was anything i did to cause the errors, but i don't think so....surfed the web, some calls and txts, that's pretty much it...then it crashed...

*bleh*

no dice....it's still giving errors....the back up of 1.01 isn't taking on the reboot....wth....

ok, going to just wipe out the whole card and install 1.02 from sratch.... :'(
