[ROM][ACS]SyndicateROM Frozen 1.2 (Updated 6/20)

Can't wait to flash the new update! Quick question (that I should know by now)... Does anyone have a great way to quickly reinstall apps after a clean install? I always backup in ROM manager but I'm scared to restore anything from it.

I backup my apps with titanium backup.

qb- is the link down right now?

No, it should work

Just came here to say awesome job you guys. I love this rom and the work y'all do. I ran it up until ee03 was available and then I had to flash that cause of Netflix support.

But I was wondering if you guys are waiting for gingerbread so 1.2 will be built off that??

No, 1.2 will still be off EC05. ACS doesn't build off of leaks and we are waiting for official gingerbread to update to 2.3 :D

I'm trying to get this up and running, but I keep running into some issues. I was on Baked Snack (EB13). I flashed the EB13 to EC05 modem zip in clockwork, then installed the rom. (I wiped everything 3x first, of course.) I got it up and running, but everytime I tried to install something, the ROM rebooted. So, I decided to go back to the beginning:

1) Use odin to flash EC05 recovery - no problem, boots to ec05 just fine
2) Use OneClickRoot to get root access and install CWM3 - no problem, superuser added successfully
3) Three fingered salute into CWM3, convert to EXT4 - no problems, conversion seems to go ok.
4) Reboot - Stuck at samsung screen

I've done this twice now, same result. Any thoughts? Might I have a corrupted OCR download?

Thanks,

-X

1.2 is Froyo I believe as they aren't releasing a Fully Loaded edition of 1.1.1
See below quotes from XDA:

=theimpaler747;14084402]Lol, fully loaded will be introduced with 1.2, for now see the TW4 thread in themes and apps :)

*If I'm wrong I'll edit the post*

Edit: I for some reason thought when I got to the bottom of page 90 it was the end of the thread lol
qb already answered lol

So nevermind lol

Step 3.5 install ROM from sd card? Have to install the ROM before you reboot after converting
Have you done that? and just omitted it in the post?

Yeah, I just saw that now. I was running off of the instructions on XDA, and I think they glossed over that step. Bummer. Now I have to wait to get home from work to get my phone back in order... =(

Thanks, though.

If you go into CWM there should be a back up thats named before-ext4 or something along those lines.
could always do that and try to download the ROM straight to your phone?

I have the ROM on my phone already. I tried restoring the backup and booting into the phone, but I still got stuck at the samsung screen.

I'll try restoring the backup and flashing the ROM immediately and see where that gets me.

well if you have the ROM on your phone you shouldnt need to restore the back up?
I would just re wipe everything then include step 3.5 ;) and see where that gets ya?

I tried that. Re-wipe everything 3x, install the rom. Still stuck at the samsung logo. =(

Edit: Here's something oddball: when wiping the davlik, there's an error message:

"e:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]"

I assume thats normal lol
I've gotten that message ever since I rooted back with SRF 1.1.0
I am guessing it has to do with partitioning and I dont have a partion established?

Question...do you have the ROM that has the Kernel included with it? or is this the copy you are supposed to flash the Kernel right after?

Edit: Answer to the e:unkown volume for path
dug a little and found out I was right and it has to do with partitioning

You might want to try odin to stock EC05, root with CWM 3.0.0.6, boot into clockwork, let filesystem convert, then flash the Syndicate 1.1.0 ROM. After that boot into clockwork, and flash this zip: [RECOVERY] ClockworkMod 3.0.2.5 upgrade RFS / EXT4 COMPATIBLE!!! - xda-developers it will upgrade your clockwork. After you flash it reboot your phone. Then boot into clockwork, wipe data, cache, and dalvik 3X and flash 1.1.1.

It is the version that includes the kernel. Should I look for a version with the kernel separate from the ROM?

I flashed a copy of baked snack 2.1 that I had on my card, and it installed without issue. The problem seems to be in the Syndicate rom download. Perhaps the download is corrupt? I'll try again tonight.

Edit: Thanks for that longer upgrade path, qb. I'll try that, too.

No you don't need the one without the kernel, was just wondering if you knew there were different versions inadvertently :p
the one with the kernel included just removes a step thats all :)
Yesterday I spent the majority of the afternoon trying to flash SRF 1.1.1 and get a beta theme working so I was having issues all the time :)
But I got it working and I think it was just a matter of when I had a bad flash I rewiped everything and flashed it all over again ;)
It could be a bad download? Had the same thoughts of my copy as well but perserverance (sp) paid off and I had a good copy just phone was being a jacka$$ lol
So not sure why Baked Snack would work and SRF wouldn't. I think the new CWM is just a bit buggy as I couldnt even flash ACE or SRF 1.1.0 at one point yesterday afternoon. I kept getting stuck at the boot animation, it would just repeat itself until I rebooted into CWM.
If you try again before you go home you could always rewipe everything flash it all and if you get stuck at the boot screen reboot and just wipe cache and dalvik and then flash?
Trying to give ideas because I'm impatient as all hell and can't wait to do anything lol
