T-Mobile: Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

I did NOT too. Just paid next day air shipping $25
I'm in the process of ordering right through T-Force on Facebook. They want to charge $24.99 shipping. I remember my N7 was free shipping overnight. What are the odds I can have this changed? Never mind she said because I've been with T-Mobile almost 15 she is going to wave the shipping.... Doing the happy dance. 😀

I did the morning after the Unpack event, 8/24. I was ok with it, since I was expecting to have a sizable down payment but it was 0 down.

I was expecting a down payment too because they required it on the S8+. I am so happy they didn't.

I don't mind because with the Note 7 I had a down payment. Note 8 no down pmt

Home Delivery is a specific service name. That's mainly for you to send something via FedEx. Verizon would likely be using Ground or Express.

So "sending" means "delivery" in the FedEx world... hmm.. I'll have to remember that.

Nice! I didn't try to get out of my shipping charge. It was early Saturday at the store and I was tired. I had to go to the store for shipping to my p.o. box.

Hey! Thanks for meeting me here. I am excited to hear that you did the Note8 preorder. I am thinking about upgrading to that device myself! We plan on starting to ship the devices on 9/13. We started charging our customer's cards on 8/29 so if for any reason the payment is denied, it gives customer's time to contact us to update their card information. Once it clears, we begin packaging the devices up and assigning the tracking number so they will be ready to ship on 9/13. Let me know if you have any questions. :-)

Not to be to nosy but how much are people being charged after down payment and taxes?

On original Jump plan, $210 down + sales tax, free UPS Next Day Air Saver shipping since I've been with TMO for 6 years, pre-ordered over the phone. Pre-ordering a BOGO today, also over the phone, also free next day shipping and since I own my current phone they are going to waive my $20 upgrade free (because why would I use Jump for that?).

This is consistent with what customer service and an several in-store sales representatives from our area's highest volume store said as well.

I don't like it anymore than anyone else, but, this seems to be the case. I will only believe earlier shipping than what TMO is consistently stating until I see it 1) on my order, or 2) someone posts a full capture of their earlier tracking information (including package weight, and obviously with personal information and tracking number redacted).

Also, on the topic, I have had scheduled deliveries in the past for both UPS and FedEx where the scheduled delivery date was confirmed (or so I thought) then got pushed back one day after another. These were not phone orders.

Yeah, I got an equivalent message from T-Mobile Help's Twitter account back in April when ordering the S8+. It sounded to me at the time like I may not even get my phone on launch date. However, I had my phone in hand two days before launch. If the pattern holds, I'm expecting to have my Note 8 delivered on the 13th.

That said, all these people talking about Samsung.com and Verizon pre-orders already being shipped is giving me some vain hope for an even earlier ship date.

When I view this through the lens of a game pre-order, you don't get to play until the launch date. Granted, phones are not the same thing, just saying in terms of principle. I too hope that we see movement tomorrow, but, I'm setting my expectations for Sep 13 - 15 for shipment and if it arrives earlier then I'm happy.

As for the other carriers where people are saying that they will receive their pre-orders tomorrow, I will believe that too when I see proof that they have indeed received it.

Assuming they do and we do not (but trying to be positive here), what I cannot understand is why TMO would let the other carriers beat them out? Especially Verizon since TMO is trying to displace them since TMO recently won 31MHz worth of 600MHz spectrum which is far superior both in terms of distance, building penetration and bandwidth to Verizon's 700MHz chunk of spectrum. I would expect TMO to deal two blows to VZW and not just one (granted, I'm not a business strategist, but, in the IC, yeah, we would do something equivalent).
