Re: No update still for the Nexus 6!!!!

I just tried this, but no luck. Did you sign into your Google account after the reset during setup? Or did you skip everything else? Thanks so much!

Re: No update still for the Nexus 6!!!!

Just wanted to throw it out there in case anyone with a unbranded Nexus 6 on AT&T can't get the update.I found if you wipe the device with the SIM out and go through the set up just to hook up to wifi the update comes through afterward just pop your SIM back in and your good to go. After the initial update I checked for another update and there was a patch so make sure you do that before putting the SIM back in.

Do they have an idea?

Are they aware we have gotten any updates? I already got an update for my Xbox, no hassles (everyone did simultaneously) and they can't roll out a little update we've been waiting for months? Just in case some of you didn't know, Other phones, that aren't Nexus, already got their updates, and I (most of us) got the Nexus-Google phone because it was "first in line" and simple, pure Android. All of that wasn't true. Fake advertising; misleading.😕😡

Will AT&T Nexus 6 ever receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow?

I see T-Mobile is set to release Marshmallow any day now...as usual, us AT&T people are left out in the cold. I've never seen a carrier so oblivious to treating their customers well. Not all of us are tech savvy or have access to a computer to flash or sideload. Anybody thinking about jumping ship after this fiasco and going to a different carrier?

I am most definitely leaving AT&T in about 4 or 5 months. I am looking forward to moving to Project Fi.

I personally wouldn't switch carriers over it -- I would just get a new phone. I believe this is why Google didn't want them selling the Nexus 6P due to these .. "delays" from carriers. So far from what I have seen with the 6P everyone gets the updates -- regardless of carrier. It is still a staged rollout (such as I got my security update within a few days of November versus the 1st) but nothing like the delays for the Nexus 6.

re: Will AT&T Nexus 6 ever receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow? Update: YES!

Just an FYI, T Mobiles band 12 is apparently not yet supported on Fi. With my Tmobile SIM in my Nexus 6 I get good reception in my office (wifi off) because of band 12 and when I use my Fi SIM I do not have any signal. We have wifi so its a moot point, but if wifi happens to be down for some reason my phone will be useless.

I still don't have the update either. I'm switching from at&t as soon as I can(8 more months). This was the final straw after they screwed me on digital life too.

Don't think I'll leave AT&T over this, but it's very frustrating....

I don't feel the need to switch carriers, but if I get another nexus phone, I definitely won't bring it to AT&T to let them give me a new SIM and register the phone with the IMEI and all that.

I feel like the delay getting the 6.0 OTA was my own doing.

Project Fi N6's are just now starting to get MM. So the problem is still there. Just got off the phone with CS and I had a botched update, it didn't take. It'll roll back around but she warned me their may be bugs. Bug report blah blah blah. Fi is great, but it is still Beta, and they are very cautious about updates. FYI.

I have been buying Moto x phones since the first a couple years back and the Nexus 6 last year and with each phone I have just inserted my previous phone SIM and moved on, never needing to touch base with AT&T. I think all it takes is to have the SIM in the phone and have the phone get an AT&T update build at some point and BAM! you are then at their mercy the rest of the way for updates regardless of pulling the SIM and FDR'ing. As to FI, that looks really good to me, something I will definitely be interested in, especially if they can get some more phones on board (MXPE maybe?)

re: Will AT&T Nexus 6 ever receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow? Update: YES!

@Almeuit - I can see why they wouldn't want to sell the 6P through carriers. Google can try to claim hindsight, but the reality is they turned control of the updated over to carriers who [A] have no vested interest in the timely delivery of OS updates and in fact have an established track record of being very slow in their delivery. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?

Switching phones is certainly something I've considered, but to that end I'd have a question for Google - what do they intend to do for all the disenfranchised N6 owners in this situation? (yeah I know, probably nothing).
