I'm patient dude. If we had something built from source, its a very good possibility we have that much more stability. Granted its more work but it seems like the best option.

My 2 cents--A .35 kernal would be huge.

It looks like the Oxygen ROM builder has solved the 2 most annoying problems (to me atleast)

Version 2.0 b - 6 dec 2011

Tried to fix blackscreen bug -> no blackscreen with live wallpaper guaranteed (even with electronbeam)
Small performance tweaks
New bluetooth drivers
Added SIP calls
Manual network selection fix
Fixed battery drain

So if that would atleast allow us to have something close to perfect while you are doing your own custom job.

BTW, joban thanks for everything.

Re: Joban's Kernel 2.08 (Overclock, CM7 2.3.7 etc..) **Gyro Fixed

heres how im followin this, correct me if im wronge.
LG and or ATT wont give up the upgrade to our phone(for now at least) if they have it at all.
with that we dont have source for .35 kernel specific to our phones.
looks like all the roms are heading toward the .35 kernel. we get left behind, with half fixed roms. not really for our phones.
as far as i know joban gave the .35 kernel a try but keeps getting errors upon compiling.
sense we cant get a newer kernel we are going to make a damn good rom for our phones.
So what we all need to do is educate our self's so that we can be great testers and maybe even help joban, and donovan out.

Just so everyone knows aside from testing things out and doing some write ups/how-to's (and getting the channels name to include the P505) I haven't done any of the leg work here all the credit goes to joban for the kernel. I'm little more then a beta tester. I have been looking into build a ROM but I haven't got very far yet as I have had a lot on my plate.

Re: Joban's Kernel 2.08 (Overclock, CM7 2.3.7 etc..) **Gyro Fixed

Ok now my phone is bricked with Cyanogen Mod 7, is there any way to reverse the changes I made?

The only thing I see on the screen is the Blue Cyanogen 7 logo, nothing else. No buttons will work, and I can't do a thing

*edit*

Ok, did a factory reset and for some reason Cyanogen is working, lol.

nothing special? just a themed cm7. shouldnt be any different than the other roms

No not really, but different with my personal added tweaks though.

Just updated my stock rooted phoenix 2.2.2 to cyanogenmod 7.1 2.3.7 with your kernel. Thank you so much for the hard work you are putting into this, my phone just transformed.

Wondering if anyone can help? I have cyanogenmod 6.5.8 on my lg phoenix with joban's kernel. Everything runs great except when i get a incoming call the screen doesn't come on to let me answer it. It lights up but stays black and nothing shows on the screen. Please help?

Are you overclocking the phone (screen often has issues when overclocking). If not I suggest trying out another rom, cant hurt to try something else out! I personally suggest getting SonygenMod with Jobans 2.08 :).

Re: Joban's Kernel 2.08 (Overclock, CM7 2.3.7 etc..) **Gyro Fixed

Actually i was using performance in cyanogen set to 480 min 764 max. i scoured the net and tried many fixes.(changing lock screen, making screen off profile in setcpu with a high min freq.,wiping dalvik/cache)
I even tried doing a factory wipe, but still nothing. This really sucks because i love how i have customized my phone right now and its just this one stupid thing thats messing it up. Hopefully someone has a fix for this. Maybe joban can look into it? and thanks viper11509 for taking the time to help.

Edit - Just flashed sonygenmod and its doing the exact same thing. When it starts ringing the phone looks like its gonna turn on but nothing comes on the screen. If i touch the screen where the lock is and move my finger back and forth a little the screen comes on and i can see who's calling. Its the same with cm7 6.5.8? Gonna try oxygen rom now.

Edit 2 - Tried cyanogenmatt and oxygen, all doing the same thing?Screen only turns on if i touch it. Someone please help???

If I'm not mitaken this is an issue with all the ROMs I know MMAtt's does it too. This is one of the major issues Joban was trying to work out with a custom ROM for our phones. I think he had a fix on a precooked ROM but I don't know what the status is right now.

Re: Joban's Kernel 2.08 (Overclock, CM7 2.3.7 etc..) **Gyro Fixed

snorge, please let us know if the screen problem still exists in this rom. I think i'm gonna make a backup and try it out real quick myself.

Edit - So far so good, this rom is working really well. With cyanogen 7.1.0 other than the black screen on incoming calls when i switched to keypad during a call the screen would shut off and not come back on unless i pressed the volume buttons, now incoming calls are working great as well as the keypad. Thanks snorge for the link!
