Yet another stupid question, where is the root of the SD card?

The "root" or "root directory" is the top-most directory of your SD card.

Yes,

"/" is the root of the phone's file system, but if you want the "root" of the SD card its here: "/mnt/sdcard/"

truth be told, first time i did something that required placing a folder/file @ the root of my sd card i actually made a folder called 'root'.

but, i did place that folder on the root of the card. so. it was somewhat of a triumph.

So why does SMS bog down and become real real laggy (often requiring a reboot) before it works like normal with all the 1. Something bamf? The problem went away with the 2.0 versions.

There is an option in the Bamf Toolbox to remove some unwanted apps, including Friend Stream. It was my understanding that Friend Stream was required for Sense to operate, and should not be removed. Is it safe to remove this app?

Its not just BAMF roms, it seems to be a froyo-wide issue (I haven't tried a GB one yet).

Key is, keep you total # number of messages from getting too large, or so ive heard. I switched to GoSMS, and haven't experienced a slow down since...may want to check that out as well.

This ROM wakes the phone whenever you press one of the volume buttons. To disable this feature, download the appropriate mod from the OP of this thread and flash in Clockworkmod.

dont rename or use hboot, just flash it in recovery.

you can wipe cache and dalvik if you want.

i e ven just did something like this yesterday--just having a complete lack of mental capability at the moment.

about to dl/flash the "disable-volume key turning on screen". realized how much i don't like the screen turning on when trying to turn up music.

original problem: couldn't get texts to send/receive after flashing this theme.

earlier today, after installing the theme--i blocked a spam text # on vzw website. apparently, that also shut off my text messaging. no clue why.
i went there just now, unblocked it--sent myself a message & it delivered.
has nothing to do with the Theme, apparently.

Possible that something didn't work right when you restored. Do a full data wipe on addition to wiping cache and Dalvik. You may want to do this three times before restoring your backup again. Good luck.

Additionally, I sometimes have a very high drain on idle. This has occurred before I rooted, but was wondering if anyone knows the cause. It's after I take it off the charger, about an hour later after not touching it the phone is physically hot, the current is over 300ma and I am down to 85% on the extended battery.
