[ROM] ApeX V1.4.1 for Droid X & Droid 2 - Refinement and Ease of Use (2/22/2011)

After flashing to Apex 1.4 i am unable to get my facebook contacts to sync to my phone. Every time i try to add my facebook account i either get an error or it says wait while they are being synced and it gets about 3/4 of the way and stops. I have tried clearing user data, uninstalling and re-installing the fb app, resets and battery pulls. Any clues?

In the toolbox there is the option to choose from two different circular battery icons. Does anyone have any pictures of what these look like? I've tried Googling the names but i'm not having any luck. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Hahaha that's why I dl one and installed and then picked the other to view and then took the screen cap. Needed a side by side. I like the one that's second.

Same here. While i do like the style of the first one more, I like for the colors of all of the icons to match, so i went with the second one.

I hope Fab gets REVOlution updated soon. I much prefer the simple black and white icons, and think they look great on my X.

I had something like this happen. I just decided to bite the bullet and wipe data and cache and reinstall 1.4 then. Now social networking seems to be syncing just fine with contact photos.

Where do you find the option to change battery icons in the toolbox?

apex?

So I'm a little nervous about doing this. I'm finally rooted and that took an act it God... lol. I guess my main concern is how is this better than stock which im sure it is. I understand the customization aspect... I want more speed, better battery life and less bloatware. What I don't want is instability not that this rom would cause that. It sounds great and i'm ready to do it. If and when GB comes out for the DX, will I need to go back to stock to get it?
I wish I knew someone close to me that we could compare stock to apex side by side because I'm a visual learner on some things, gotta see it. Someone say the key word to get me over this final hump. Lol.

Before you flash any custom ROMs on your phone, just make sure to make a nandroid backup of your stock phone in Clockwork Recovery. That way if you decide that custom ROMs just aren't for you then you can flash back to your old phone in a matter of minutes. Completely safe.

However, you will absolutely love this ROM if you're used to your stock phone. It's blazing fast and contains a lot of the blur apps/functions you're accustomed to already, but it's all optimized and you have the option to remove them entirely if you want. In order to get better battery life and even better speed, I highly recommend considering a overclocking/undervolting app (Quickclock Advanced is really easy to use by JRummy's Droid Overclock is another great app with some really cool extras). I wouldn't worry about that yet though -- take baby steps.

In short: make a backup of your phone in its current state and get on Apex as soon as you can. You won't regret it.

If it helps, remember that we all started off in your exact same position. Now look at us.

if i install can i still get regular updates from verizon?

Not 100% sure but when a update drops I always flash back to a stock backup so the install is good. Just make a stock backup and when a update comes out flash back and update. Once your updated then back that up and rom again. Simple and fun. Don't be held back!

Did you try what the original post suggests under "Quirks" ?

"If you add a Yahoo! or Corporate account through the My Accounts app, you will need to use the Toolbox to switch to the Motorola Messaging Suite (MMS & Email)"

Newbie here. Not really sure how to install this on my phone. Anyone care to help?

First you need root. Then you need bootstrapper. Then you need to dl the rom. Then flash into recovery using the bootstrapper app. The install from sd card and pick the rom file and install. Sounds simple bit if your first time you may want to read up some of the how to flash roms and stuff first. You can always start doing it and come back with any questions as you go.
