Charge the battery to 100%, unplug, boot into recovery, wipe battery stats, reboot. It should get greatly improved battery life from there.

No worries. You understood perfectly - Just do exactly what you said above. When you get into recovery, you will go to:

-advanced (hit camera button)
-wipe battery stats (hit camera button)
-YES (hit camera button)

It should take all of one second for this process to complete. Then just back out and reboot. You'll lose nothing. All this does is say to your battery:

All that stuff about how you used to run before on the stock ROM or other ROMS? Forget all that. Let's start fresh and let this specific ROM draw power from you as needed and train you to run in better sync with it.

No problem at all. I unplug in the mornings at 8:00 am, plug back in around 1:00 am - 2:00 am (17-18 hours average), and the battery is typically at 30-40%. Pretty damn good.

Way better than the 3.5 hours that I was getting on my EVO -_-. I didn't root and flash it but still that is unacceptable

I have one last problem. I can't get my email any more. I have typed in my email and password and I get a message unable to open connection to server. I never had a problem in the past. This is not a gmail account. Great ROM super fast and clean.

Rom manager tends to lag a little bit on releasing new updates and developer roms. I prefer to hit the forums for them, but just be cautious what your putting on your phone and flashing.

in terminal emulator type "su" hit enter, wait for superuser to give permission and a # will show up, then type "apextoolbox" and hit enter.. toolbox will appear

Now, a question...
I have the Apex rom installed and it seems that the phone is notifying me every time it checks for mail rather than when a new mail message comes in. Am I overlooking a setting or something? tough in the recording studio when it goes off every five minutes...not the sound...me diving for it! Thanks! I am amazed at how much snappier my phone is without the bloatware.

If you go into gmail, menu, more, settings, at the bottom, do you have Notify Once checked?

I restored the 3g mobile hotspot app and was able to create a wireless network and connect to it with my laptop but I was not able to get a connection to the internet. I didn't even get eh screen that says you have to pay for the service.

Any suggestions?
