[ROM][GB][5.23.11]Das BAMF 2.0-5

Check out the xda threads. Reports of bricking with the MR2 radio. Adrynalyne's phone bricked while on MR2 and Froyo.

shouldnt affect us on gb running the mr2 radio. if you remember, the mr2 RUU is only for froyo which bricked him. the MR2 stand alone radio only works on gingerbread which means he wasnt using that radio.

also i made a little video tutorial on installing 2.0-5.. figured it would help out newbies

It's the same radio. The MR2 radio that some have been using with the Gingerbread ROMs was pulled from the leaked Froyo MR2. This particular radio works with both GB ROMs based on the previously leaked alpha and with the leak of the upcoming Froyo MR2 update. It does not work with the official Froyo releases or the ROMs based on those releases.

yes i know that but he said he was running on froyo which means its a completely different set of software as well. no way to say its the GB mr2 radio that did it. there are many variables that can cause his brick, thats all im saying.

Did you check the md5 checksum of the zip file before flashing? You could have a bad download.

How do I do that? And what are the odds of having that happen with both GB versions?... I am currently running DAS BMF 1.6.3 with 0 issues just want to try out some GB goodness... Both installs went the exact same way... booted fine until the home screen was supposed to come up then froze with nothing on screen and only the power button working to only turn the screen on and off. I need to pull battery to power down..

i wanted to post on XDA but i still have under 10 posts and im not allowed to post on the development threads, im running preview 3 and had all my contacts in vzw backup asst but it does not seem to let me use it in preview 3 has anyone experienced this problem and found a workaround ? or am i going to have to go back to 2.0-5, restore my contacts, save them to my gmail and then flash preview 3 again ?! thanks in advance

Thankfully I have no problems to report... I am running DB 2.0-5 for a while now... I have had no random reboots or anything. I hope it stays that way cuz I really like having 2.3.4 and 2.0-5 on my phone :)

I never use VZW for anything, always use google :) and are you doing a full wipe from one version of 2.0 to another version of 2.0? If you are, its not necessary, all you need to do is wipe cache and dalvik. the only time you need a full data wipe is from completely different ROMs, or radios, etc...

yeahh i kind of got lazy and let the backup asst do my work even tho honestly the problem is not the asst but more of the way that the ROM was setup, im just trying to find a way before i go through all that trouble ..

One thing I noticed about DB 2.0 is that you actually have to manually choose to save any new phone number to google. When you enter a number you hit the 'contact type' drop down box and select google... its a pain and took me a couple of ROM changes to realize what was going on. here is a SS of what I mean :) good luck

Just an FYI. I recently switched from the baked in stock kernel to the suggested 'imosyen test 7' kernel from the OP, and have noticed an improvement, not just with 4g but overall performance of my phone. ALSO. if anyone does try it. DON"T FREAK OUT when you first flash it and you only get 3g. it happened to me, a simple shut down (not restart), fixed it and 4g came right back on :)

...SMARTASS 245 - 1.018. you also have the option to overclock to 1.408 with this kernel :) have fun

yeahh the thing is i didn't have my contacts saved to my gmail acct so what i did was i logged into vzw on the web > went to messages > contacts (opens up backup asst) > exported contacts to acct > opened up gmail and import contacts > went back to my phone and pressed sync and now i have all my contacts back plus they are now on my gmail acct and i am done with vzw's backup asst smh .. thanks for the help guys and i hope that somehow with this post i have helped someone else who was lost .. even tho im probably the only moron on this forum that still used backup asst instead of gmail =X

We live and learn :) and your not the only 'moron', trust me! and yes, as long as people follow rule 1 of forums; which is READ READ READ, then you will have helped someone out with this post :)

There's also no way to tell it isn't just the mr2 radio either.

Seriously... getting awesome battery life with imos 2.5.3test7 kernel... best kernel I have found yet.

set at 245-1.222 interactiveX

...Looking forward to some future MODs for this ROM... I thought I liked DB1.7, this ROM is way better in every way, except for lack of MODs :) zhp at XDA is working on them... i just want the ability to change the far right rosie button to a sms icon instead of the globe icon... :)

I restored back to 163 because of the brickings again. I will wait a few days, see how much i hear about more occurrences, and decide whether to go back. I just cant reallly afford to insurance claim for a replacement.

Anyway, i can practice patience for 3 days i guess.

I really like the look of bamf 2. I even set it up with sense after i set it up for adwx, and i usually Hate using sense. Pretty cool stuff. Is there a way to alter the Sense lockscreen, btw? I looked around but didnt see anything. I'd like to be able to change those widgets.

Only real problem i had with it was the slow charge. Flashed Imoseyon's lean 3.0.1 test1 and it was still unbelievably slow.
