I'm on DL30. If i go into CWM RED, wipe cache, wipe to factory reset, then apply the debloat/deodex zip in CWM RED, should that work ok? Will I be rooted afterwards?
yes and yes,,,but dont forget to flash the radio via odin

DroidXcon is the real expert here, but I will take a shot at trying to answer this. From what I have read elswhere, what you are saying should work ok. It's still way early in this release, but other people have not reported any problems by simply flashing the debloated ROM. DroidXcon's method here includes the EB01 kernel, modem, radio. If you just flashed the debloated EB01, you would still be running on an older modem. I am going to play it safe and when I flash to the debloated ROM, I am going to flash the EB01 modem beforehand through ODIN. And yes, after you do this you will still be rooted.I'm on DL30. This is confusing me. I used the Odin program to put the leaked Froyo on from Cory's post. Now I'm confused with what to do. I apologize for being a nuisance about this whole thing but I need steps laid out bc I'm new at all of this and I'm not familiar with some of the terms.
Can I go to this new upgrade from the dl30 leak? If so, what are the steps that get me there?
You are going to follow the same steps Cory laid out and you used for the Froyo leak. Good news is you won't have to do all of them again. Connect your phone to computer via usb cable with debugging enabled on phone, download whichever version you want from #2 of the original post (stock or debloated) to your sd card. You already have ODIN, so download the EB01modem.tar to your computer. Unplug phone from computer and turn off your phone, pull the battery. Open ODIN, hold the volume down button on your phone and connect via usb cable. You will see one of the boxes on ODIN turn yellow and you will see the yellow triangle and "downloading" in yellow on your phone. Click the PDA button, slelect the EB01modem.tar and click start. Once that is done, unplug phone from usb, put battery back in DO NOT TURN PHONE ON, hold down volume up, volume down, & power buttons at same time until samsung logo flashes twice then let go. You will now be in blue cwm. volume down to apply sdcard:update.zip, hit the home button. You should now be in red cwm. scroll to install zip from sd card, hit either the power button or back key, scroll to whichever version you downloaded (stock or debloated), hit power or back button. Once it says installation complete, hit the menu capacitive button, reboot now will be highlighted, hit power or back button. doneA little insight/help please!
I never had a voodoo kernel, so I don't know for sure. But everything I have read in other posts has been instruncting people to disable voodoo/lag fix before going to these nonvoodoo froyo roms@DroidXcon - I want to use your EB01 Odin package. I'm using an old JT Voodoo kernal , the 1.2 OC one with the AOSP bootanimation. Should I replace that with a different kernal or should I disable it before using your Odin package?
Thanks in advance for any help.
You are more than welcome. That is the great thing about this forum and the reason this is the main android web site I go to. Everybody is willing to help each other. I started with absolutely no clue as to what I was doing less than a month ago, and here I am helping people who are in the same spot I was a short time ago. You can also throw big thanks out to DroidXcon. I would not have 90% of the info I have without his help.@Landshark Thank you soooooo much!!! That was exactly what I needed. Unfortunately while trying to sort through things myself I did a factory wipe :-( but that's okay bc I would have been waaaayyyy off from getting this done properly!!!
Thanks 100x's!!!!

This site does not allow POSITIVE feedback. We are only allowed to smack you on the back of the head and call you dummy. Just kidding. Since I am still fairly new and all the struggles and problems you may run into are still fresh in my head I will try to help you and leave the more experienced people a little freedom to tackle the more serious problems. Get ready to do some reading because there are several threads you should read before attempting a root just so you better understand what you are doing.ok im like beyone a novice when it comes to roms and all this... where do i even begin, if i want to have this build ( not even sure if thats the right term to use...lol) on my fascinate. and if I do put it on there, if/when verizon puts out an OFFICIAL update, can I update it with the new build on it, or would I have to downgrade back to stock? excuse my ignorance, but I just want to know what im gettin myself into thanks for any POSITIVE feeddback
