[ROM][GB][5.23.11]Das BAMF 2.0-5

Does the radio have to be flashed first? The rom loads and shows the background, but it wont load past that.

Hey buddy, only download the Alpha Gingerbread radio. Download the bamf 4.0.1. put the two downloads on the root of your sd card. Flash the radio in hboot. (hboot= power down, volume down key+power button, press up for yes, then reboot) Delete the radio from your sd card. Power down again. Volume down+Power button. select recovery. find the bamf 4.0.1 on sd and select. Let it do its thing then reboot. You should be golden.

This is from earlier, I had the same problem.

I went from BAMF 1.63 to version 2.0-4.01 earlier today, and I've been pulling my hair out since. No service, gapps is crashing. ROM Manager is crashing even after a fresh dowload, and a bunch of other things not working. This version isn't for the noob, that's for sure. But it looks really really nice and the Sense 3.0 is sweet. (two thumbs up)

Try wiping data and caches then reloading using ClockworkMod. I've seen some posts where people had problems with installs using ROM Manager that went away after reinstalling with ClockworkMod.

What folder does the radio go in?

My phone is charging really slowly since I flashed the new Rom. Is this common?

Yeah the kernel doesn't support the fast charge yet. forgetful said if you reboot while charging it will speed up.

Flash imos 2.5.3test7 kernel from here: [Kernel] [GB] leanKernel: minimalistic kernel (2.5.4test1 5/21/11, v2.5.2cm7 5/17/11) - xda-developers

Clear cache and dalvik first then flash. It should help with the slow charging issues. Unfortunately after I flashed this kernel I experienced 3 reboots right away but fixed that by pulling the battery for 10 minutes. I also just experienced not being able to answer a phone call, it forced closed on me right away. Other people have also experienced this problem over at xda. I think they just wiped everything and reflashed and the phone force close was fixed. The phone does charge a lot faster though!

Sorry in advance for this question but im very much a noob. I'm a little confused as to which version of the rom i should start with... There's so many different versions in the original post and im not sure as to which one i should initially install? Please help...

1.6.3 is more stable than this release. I'd start there.

Just checked out the link, and there's a 2.5.4test1 kernel available now that has additional battery charging tweaks, as well as a fix For the slow LTE speeds that some have reported.

I'm giving it a try!

Hot damn! Every time I update something im already behind a version! Just like that best buy commercial lol. Let us know if your battery temp stays over 100. I know others experienced that prob with the slow lte download patch before it was added to a kernel (2.5.4test1).

On another note I just tried a few test calls from my fiancee's phone to mine and I was able to answer without a problem.

So far, so good. Running smoothly and using the web browser with LTE. Unplugged from the charger about twenty minutes ago, and battery temp is just under 100 degrees (was over 100 while charging).

Good to here. Not sure if I need to update to the 2.5.4test1 kernel since I'm not in a 4G area anyways, unless there is something else within the new kernel that makes it worth it.

EDIT: How is your wifi stability with the new kernel? Since I've flashed the 2.5.3test7 kernel my wifi keeps going in and out. First time its done this.

Switched to wifi after my last post and signal is stable, as it was under 2.5.3test6 (didn't try test7).

Running kernel in battsaver mode for a little more undervolting.

Not sure anything I say will help, but heres what I did.

1. Turned off phone, and booted into HBOOT
1a. Had my GB radio in the root directory of my SDcard named "PG05IMG"(Make sure you dont have anything else named "PG05IMG.ZIP"
2. When phone booted into HBOOT, it automatically looked for the radio & asked if I wanted to apply the update.
3. After radio was done installing, I rebooted and went back into rom manager, and went into recovery console.
4. Deleted my cache, data, davlik and what not.
5. Install zip from SD
6. Seleted my GB zip file from my SD card and sat back and watched it do its thing.

Oh yeah, back-up your data. I went back to 1.6.2
